Howdy All,

We have put together a new Phone.apk for Froyo Miui  that has a Larger Picture for the incoming call screens! thought that i  would share. We've made 3 versions, one centers the image and one has a  wide image, and we couldn't decide what was better so you can make up your  own mind. See the pics for a beter explanation

I have tested it on Trips Froyo Miui

Install Instructions
1. Download the Zip you require and place it on your SD Card
2. Reboot into Recovery and Make a backup (Optional but advised)\
3a. In Recovery Install Custom Zip and choose Pvymods-Phone.apk-Cropped.zip (For the Cropped version)
3b. In Recovery Install Custom Zip and choose Pvymods-Phone.apk-Wide.zip (For the Wide version)
4. Reboot and Enjoy.

To fix the Tiny Images try this

...And adding my little touch to this wonderful mod,
I made the letters of the caller's name bold,
so that they struck out more!

first thnx for this great mod
tryed both versions....
tripNfroyo (latest)
kernel tripnbb 67 stock.

cropped...verry verry small pic so no changes
wide.... perfect wide pic...
but i wanted the bigg pic so plse help????

edit: tryed the bold cropped version as well ....still verry small pic but bold text
damn wanted the bigger pic LOL

Android by default, saves Google Contacts with a 96x96 resolution contact picture.
So, in order for this mod to work in its full glory, you need to use a workaround to assign bigger pictures.

tnx for the replay
tryed coller id free...
but got the screen from the app wich i didnt like....
so i un installed it and flashed the wide-mod...
without anny apps tht version did give me a 'wide screen pic'
so thought that the cropped version worked as well without third party app
strange

the differnece between the two is how it scales the image the wide one fits the image so that all 4 sides are outside the box, and the cropped one fits all 4 sides inside the box and if it is smaller does not increase size.
the box is the size of the wide image

You don't need to keep the Full Screen Caller ID.
You can either disable it for incoming calls etc,
or even uninstall it/freeze it after assigning the pictures.
How's the quality with the wide version?

The quality is like you expect from a pic thats made wider... Stretcht but nice.
Maby im anoob but could you explain how to do? Cuz i didnt got it working

How do i uninstall/disble this ? I installed it via xrecovery...

You need to have a backup of your default Phone.apk and replace the modded one with that, using Root Explorer for example.
If you didn't make a backup, just redownload the ROM zip and take the Phone.apk from there.

How do i take out the phone.apk from the trips custom install zip file ? by unraring it ? and then put in on sd card and then install via xrecovery ? I didn't made the backup. and my phone is a mess now. i cant make calls properly..it randomly calls people on its own and types texts on its own. as if derz a virus. damn

that seams a bit strainge, what rom are you on. this is for FROYO miui, it will have funny effects on G/bread.
if you let me kno what rom you are on i can make you a recovery zip to fix it. in future tho make sure you backup

am on trips 1.7 iris froyo...  can u give me his latest 1.7.3 alternate link other than mediafire ? mediafire is banned here..

Sorry to hear that, but it certainly has nothing to do with the mod.
Perhaps you installed an application that's malfunctioning.

if your wanting a full rom, i'd advise you ask in the rom thread, i dont want to step on any toes by mirroring it.
but here is a remover (you cant dl from media fire? where did you get this mod from?)
