The beta Paul have released is evidence enough they are going to release a gingerbread update.. Clearly the guy didn't know what he was talking about. :P I mean, why would they begin doing an update and then not release it? And they've promised an update also, so just chill, it'll be here in due time.

And if the G2x ROM is our last hope, then I'll stick with CM or rather Gr1. :) The g2x rom is just an aosp with the old lg-kernel. It doesn't have any of the GOOD things the LG one have, like mkv and such. It's even 2.3.3, while the LG one is 2.3.4 which makes use of the front camera (gtalk). What were tmo thinking? :P

In that case you should ask for a refund as they promised GB on the box . Quote the Sale of Goods act and the lot.

i agree entirely. but what will GB give us that we don't already have?

It doesn't really give us that much, but enough.. :P For example gingerbread brings videochat through Gtalk, also it can make use of the gyro (more apis for devs) and ofc it increases performance with various enhancements to the os. IF, and thats a really big if, LG is going to NOT release gb for our phone, then they'll lose more money then if they did. Think about the laws people can use to get a refund cuz they been "conned", and the same people would also NEVER EVER buy a LG again...

Just take it easy, you'll have gb on your phones soon enough. :PAnd if that's not enough, Gr1 is pretty stable.

The guy clearly had no idea about things. LG Romania confirmed Gingerbread is coming in September. Give or take 2 months for an official release of 2.3.4 ain't that long and there is Paul's, MIUI and CM roms to fiddle with until then. If you take into consideration a few more leaks of pre-release roms which are bound to happen, the next 2 months is gonna fly right by. And yeah I really like this phone, it has lots of untapped potential at least until those quad core A9s show up.

I'm no lawyer so can you explain what laws people can use because they've been "conned"?

I'm no laywer either, and ofc things can be very different in other countrys. But in sweden you could return your device if something they promised on the box isn't delivered for example. There are many different things. I'm not an expert at all, it's a friend that uses this law often, and he told me this.
