To keep my MIUI topics clean i made this new topic.

This is an rooted and edited version of the released stock rom! All in a nice and easy update.zip for xRecovery 0.3.

Required:
kernel and baseband from the official release

Will upload an flashable ftf file and re-upload the rom with the important fix which allow you to use xRecovery in the normal way, the original xRecovery cant flash back to another rom after you installed it.

I have one last question, then Ill stop nagging. I never touched the kernel before, and I was under the impression (for some reason) that the kernel was still 2.6.29. Is there another file i need to get, or what? Im sorry for asking n00b ?s, but I am not familiar with the kernel stuff...

No, we don't need to go back to 2.1 from what I can see, its just the method of updating, pulling the battery and order of flashing kernel first or the rom first.

hey guys
as Trip said you just need xrecovery 0.3
so here is instruction

- download ROM [.zip file] provided in first post
- go to recovery and install it
- DO NOT REBOOT
-  remove battery and wait for few seconds... 30 sec at least
- flash ftf file with Flash Tool... Baseband and kernel
-reboot and enjoy ;)

Cheers

no, just do the normal stuff in xrec (wipe, format, etc.)
then do the custom install, and then,
without restarting the phone, take the battery out.
wait at least 30 sec, and then
use flashtool to flash 71 baseband.
restart and (thanks to trip) enjoy!
