if it's the boot animation you want to change, move the file called boot animation zip from, system/ media/ boot animation, and put it someware safe on your sdcard and replace with the one you want to use, job done.

i think its the splash screen (green android) picture before the bootanimation same problem Rahulj85 is/was trying to solve, i think its a problem from upgrading from gen1 to gen2 and back again with not using your operators official update.

in that case is it just a matter of changing the png file in system? or is that way to easy?

hmm, splash screen is not part of any rom, its in-built in the firmware structure the hidden partition where for example the CWM would be installed i think, there are guides on BLADE customisation forum HERE for it but i dont think it works with racer....

yes,its the green android robot screen.Sorry,i did not say so,i flashed it use the TPT method( The TPT flash is here x850 v1.1,flash tool is here TPT flash tool),after this, the green android robot screen changed,so,i think the files of the TPT flash made that change, and most likely 'appsboot.mbn',because the file 'splash.img' is not in my TPT flash files.how do you think?Sorry,my english is not good.

not sure if anyone noticed but some kernels have their logo.bmp or initlogo.bmp or .rle, depends, that loads before bootanimation.. never managed to make one pic for that but it might be worth a shot if your kernel supports it

it can probably be done with rickys boot kitchen, unpack boot.img, extract ramdisk, make an initlogo.rle that has to be binary btw and than repack all and flash to phone.. might give it a shot later :0

will only work on linux as ramdisc was compiled using Linux .had a dabble yesterday with the tigtex fettled version of rickys kitchen. but I was using windows. so would not let me unpack the ramdisc image.

question, if a phone that has a different splash screen and still keeps the same image even after flashing a new rom, is that from a hidden part of phone that is embedded like bios on a computer (permanent)?...........If so the method you describe in the quote above would that override it on every boot?

Rahulj85 i think upgraded to gen2 and then down graded back to gen1 in the process had his splash screen changed, same problem as xiaoxin, they both have had there splash screens changed, would it be possible for you to create an update.zip (which they might have to apply on every rom they install) to changed splash screen back to the good old standard green android? i`m guessing though that the boot.img file would have to be modified for every rom aswell

i`d give it ago if i knew how to but i`m a total noob on linux

well i have no problems doing that on both windows and linux, you just need active perl installed.. tho i use linux for this matters and i use to565 to convert my .raw/.pngs into binary .rle files and compile back boot.img but i just got a bootloop :( must try some other binary converter

there are more downloads on activeperl site:

Windows (x86), Windows (64-bit, x64), Mac OS X (Universal), Linux (x86), Linux (x86_64)

you can just pick any.. i have both x86 and x64 on both my windows and linux.. not sure where you looked at it but on activeperl download page, on the right side there are two big blue buttons for downloading :)
