Right, i've been trying to install a custom rom the last few days.

I've rooted, flashed, updated the baseband and downloaded the custom rom.

The first time I installed the rom onto my phone, I forgot to wipe all data and it froze on the LG startup screen.

So i took the battery out, did a wipe and installed the rom again.

However it's still freezing on the same screen, so how do i get my phone to work?

I'm really worried ive messed up all together, so can someone please help.

what ROM did u flash? Because I read somewhere that if u want to flash CM7, u must use Rom Manager's CWM and not Paul's CWM. But for MCR based ROMs, or stock ROM it's fine.

Have a look at this thread: http://android.modac...66062-15032011/ . The NVFlash method is a nice disaster recovery mode.

yupe! nvflash saved my phone. Or you can use smartflash.

I used Pauls ROM.

I've managed to get my phone back working by using the recovery option in clockwork, however i've tried to install Paul's rom a few times since then but it's still freezing on the LG load up screen :(

Am I/have I done anything wrong? I'd still like to get pauls rom on my phone because i've heard its much faster then the current stock rom im using, but im not an expert at this sort of stuff so i need some help from you guys :)

thanks a lot for all the help, really appreciated!

I had this problem, for me it was because I was on EXT4 (though I didn't know) it and using the toll to go back to EXT3 fixed it for me (Modaco R19)

I've got rom manager, but can't see an opyion to install recovery.

And how so i get 5.x on the rom manager? i cant see an option for it?

Sorry for the daft questions I'm not very clever about stuff like this.

I've already flashed my phone, did this before trying to install the rom.

However, I've just tried doing it again and it says an error occurred, so does anyone knoe why amd what i do to fix it?

thanks

Right i've recently put the stock rom back onto my phone so i could re-try the whole process again from scratch to see if i missed something out. I followed all the instructions exactly but it's still freezing on the LG boot up screen.

I also tried installiing the early gingerbread rom released by paul and i didnt even get to the lg screen before the phone just froze on a black screen, and i was unable to do anything.

Is or has anyone experienced this problem, or is it just me? I'm starting to think i may have a faulty device, because it seems impossible for me to do this :(
