Water damage in Omnia i900

A bit of water got into my i900 Omnia and it has two problems now:

1- The speaker and the earphone work OK, I get the beeps, the operator messages, but no voice gets through or makes it to the other side.

2- The back of the phone gets hot from just being on, and it uses up the power real fast, apparently even when it is on.

I took it to some repair shop and he said to fix the sound he must replace a board for the sound.

As for the heating problems, the guy said the "power chip" is fried and is not sold seperately, so he must replace the other board as well, and the total adds up to ~$150 and I am better off getting a new phone instead.

Can anyone give a comment on this?
