is it possible to modify the action associate of the hardware buttons?

Hi, if your skate is rooted, you can enter system/usr/layout to modify skate_keypad.kl
for example, if you want to change home&menu, just exchange the code of them
But note that in recovery, the left button still stands for home...

key 102   HOME           WAKE
key 139   MENU           WAKE_DROPPED

for example if i want to invert menu and home buttons i change to
key 102   MENU           WAKE
key 139   HOME           WAKE_DROPPED

is it right?

yes, or you may change

key 102   HOME              WAKE
key 139   MENU           WAKE_DROPPED

to

key 139   HOME           WAKE
key 102   MENU           WAKE_DROPPED
(I did this way)

and WAKE_DROPPED stands for wake up function
after that you can save this file and reboot

Does anyone know how I can edit the skate_keypad.kl file located in system/usr/keylayout please? I can't manage to edit this file on my phone.

1st of all, you need to root your device.

Then you install ES File Explorer, start it, grant it root and go to the settings. Change the Entry for "Home Directory" to "/" (without quotes).

Now search for the the folders "system", then "usr", then "keylayout" ant tap on the file "skate_keypad.kl". Open it as "Text" with "ES Note Editor".

Now you can edit and save the keypad-file.

what about changing the power button to one of the home, menu, return front buttons...?

Because I bought a TPU flexi case for my phone and because the case rigid its hard to activate the current power button.

Stupid phone won't let me save the edited file, I can edit now but can't manage to save.

Did you enable root mode and mount system as rw in ES File Explorer settings?
