I am interested in getting an android phone, most notably one of the Xperia's and have heard a LOT about the things mentioned in the title so I would be grateful if someone could explain to me what each of these things are. What is rooting? I have heard it is the equivalent of a Jailbreak or something and am interested to know what it does and how I would do it? Would I just Google e.g. 'Root Xperia whatever' and a guide would come up telling me what to do? How do I flash a phone? I know it is linked with ROMs but I have no idea how. Can you Flash after you have rooted or something? What is a ROM? What does it do on the phone and how does it help? And finally, what is a bootlocker or something like that and why does it void warranty etc?
