Been looking around, but can't seem to find an answer.

Do Paul's Gr ROM's, or any of the Gingerbread ROMs out there support the dual core processor how they should, taking full advantage of it?

I'm on Fr19 and very happy with it, and the only thing that would make me upgrade is if there is a big difference in performance.

Any thoughts?

Don't know if i explained myself very well.

When i first joined Modaco and started learning more about the 2X, i read somewhere that froyo didn't take full advantage of the dual core processor and that only honeycomb android devices did.
I bought an asus transformer a while ago and the difference in speed is remarcable - is it because of this? does honeycomb take full advantage of the processor or is the difference in performance due to something else?

If so, does gingerbread implement the dual core support present in honeycomb, or is it merely an evolution of froyo that changes nothing in processor support - having very litlle impact on performance and speed?

Froyo has very effective dual core support, if you sit there watching processes being generated you can see them being shared between the cores as required (I've done just that). To make the 100% most effective use of 2 cores you need SMP enabled apps, but this is an app requirement not an OS requirement in the main. There's a LOT of misinformation around dual core support out there.

I find Honeycomb on the Transformer far more laggy than GB on the 2X.

With that final comment you convinced me to go for Gr4 .
Got to start with the baseband, right? Any advice - 622 or 725?

I'm using 0622 personally, but 0725 should be good too!
