Guest Deya_87 Posted November 20, 2011 Report Posted November 20, 2011 Hello, I have had a problem with my phone for at least a couple of months but lately it's like everyday. My ZTE reboots itself all if a sudden when I'm using it. Today for example, it happened to me twice. I can't relate this to any particular app because i have many. My phone is rooted and I have Ginger Fry Stir (beta9) android z.3.4 What can I do? Change the Rom? Uninstall everything? I need your help ;-)
Guest wrtease Posted November 20, 2011 Report Posted November 20, 2011 start again clean start .wipe factory ,wipe cache ,wipe dalvik, format system.install new rom. have you backed all your apps up to sdcard then copy to pc and put them in a folder .you can paste them back later. also have you changed your charger with a different one. start again .best of luck.to you.
Guest swukjay Posted November 20, 2011 Report Posted November 20, 2011 If your overclocking lower the clock speed

No I only charge my phone with the charger that came included in the ZTE pack. Yes I've backed all my apps. How do I do a wipte factory/wipe chache and all those things you mentionned? Should I install the same rom or another one? If yes, which one do you recommend? And what's overlocking?
Guest wrtease Posted November 20, 2011 Report Posted November 20, 2011 you use clockwork and before you do that check which gen your fone is .
Guest wrtease Posted November 20, 2011 Report Posted November 20, 2011 you can use any gen2 rom you want .copy the one you want to sdcard first .
Guest Deya_87 Posted November 20, 2011 Report Posted November 20, 2011 you use clockwork and before you do that check which gen your fone is . i think its Gen2 and clockwork is to clean start or change the ROM?
Guest Deya_87 Posted November 20, 2011 Report Posted November 20, 2011 you can use any gen2 rom you want .copy the one you want to sdcard first i want one that doesn't consume too much battery. the ginger fry stir was good actually but maybe this is a good occasion to change and try another rom. any preferences? :)
Guest wrtease Posted November 20, 2011 Report Posted November 20, 2011 you use clockwork to do all those things.
Guest Deya_87 Posted February 7, 2012 Report Posted February 7, 2012 Ok, I'm digging up this thread because my problem hasn't be solved. My phone (ZTE Blade) restarts when I play a game or when I launch the gallery. Not all the time, but quite often (every other time) and it's very annoying. I can't play "Cut the rope" properly because after 5min the phone restarts. Same problem with the Gallery although that happens less frequently. I don't think I'm overclocking the phone (since I don't really know what that means, it's less likely I'm doing so) and I'm on Gen2. The Rom is Ginger Stir Fry (one of the last releases) and I tried to other Roms before and the phone would reboot anyways. I installed the CPU No Frills app but to be honest there are no differences regarding my issue. In case I am overclocking the phone (without me knowing), how can I know this and fix it? Thanks in advance.
Guest iKrautDroid Posted February 7, 2012 Report Posted February 7, 2012 Try a new rom. Swedish Snow is really great and I havent had a single random reboot on it yet.
Guest adonwenas Posted February 8, 2012 Report Posted February 8, 2012 It could be a tpt bug... I had this issue before i do tpt/flasher... Guest Taptap1 Posted February 9, 2012 Report Posted February 9, 2012 Backup your apps + data with for example mybackup root. Than go into clockworkmod and do a data wipe (factory reset + dalvik cache) restart phone and restore only apps you really need.

Guest Deya_87 Posted February 10, 2012 Report Posted February 10, 2012 Hi thank you all for trying to help me. I don't know what TPT consists in really (yes I've read the term in the glossary) and everytime I want to install a new rom I enter in Clockwork mode and wipe everything (I follow a tutorial here on the forum) and then I install the rom from .zip So far I've tried these Roms: Ginger Fry Stir beta9 - Moldovan High Mountain - Cm7- and now back to GSF b27 I have always had GEN2 (never needed to upgrade). I really don't know what to do, I'm afraid a new Rom won't help me much :/

It's not like installing new ROM, it's like change GEN, yes?
Guest lukesan Posted February 10, 2012 Report Posted February 10, 2012 As someone else said it could be the sd-card. I had a simular issue with mine. It would lock or reboot. I switched to a sandisk card now and it has been up and running for a while now. Can you test without sd-card for a couple of days?

It's not like installing new ROM, it's like change GEN, yes? If it's really Europe GEN1 version updated to GEN2, then install Swedish Snow rls4b via TPT. I would suggest to format your sd card, then put the TPT image on it and then follow the instructions to restart your phone. It will repartition your internal storage, install Swedish Snow and ClockWorkMod Recovery. No need to do any wiping before. This is the most stable ROM you can get and the TPT method will make your phone brand new, so if problems still arise then it would be probably a hardware fault.
Guest adonwenas Posted February 11, 2012 Report Posted February 11, 2012 I changed 3 cards, even without it it still reboots. Maybe theres something wrong when u upgrade to gen 2. If u want to do tpt ( im more suggested to windows flasher ) try to use small size sdcard (2gb recomended) cuz sometimes problem came from there... sent from V880 using Tapatalk

Guest maff91 Posted February 15, 2012 Report Posted February 15, 2012 recently my SF has been rebooting alot, i have cm 7 latest nightly, my phone seems to only reboot when it's first booted up ie it will load launcherpro then start to load icons for apps on sd card and then crash and reboot, after several reboots it will finally work and after that will remain relativley stable, the only other time it reboots is when i finsh usb mode, this seems to sujest it's the sd but it was fine for ages, could it be that i have moved an app to sd that i shouldn't have?
