TV Out through Audio Jack

Has you may know, or not, Galaxy S has the capability of sending audio+video through its Audio Jack over RCA/AV inputs in TV.

What I'm wondering is if any of you tried this on our Skate? Plugin' in a audio jack - RCA/AV and plug it in TV to see if it works?

I don't have a cable like this so I don't know if it works...

Also can anyone try with, if you have a proper cable, a mini USB - RCA/AV?

In some phones there are some custom ROMs which give you this option under Settings, but is simply an option to tick or untick cuz it only passes audio... Maybe we're lucky? :D

I havent got a cable to try, but even if it did have a wired tv out headphone plug, what good is that if its not recognized by the os...it simply wont work...

a bit like the dormant front cam...

Where is this cam? I don't see it.

On the top right of the phone beside the ear grille. There are three holes. One is for proximity sensor. One for light sensor. And the other?

That's confirmed then...no cam!

Must admit I couldn't understand why ZTE would fit one but not use it. Highly unlikely a budget handset manufacturer would waste money like that.

The OP was not asking about front cameras at all!

He was asking about the Skate's ability to output a video signal via the headphone jack, which sounds a bit flakey to me, but if possible then it would be rather cool

Anyone know anything more about this?

Frequencies needed to modulate composite video signal are, depends on video system, 4 to 10 MHz.

Usually to modulate video signals, should be used a specialised chip. Common sound controllers, usually, operate on much lower frequencies.

I don't claim it is impossible to do, but it will be really hard to generate video signal, based only on video/sound controllers build in the phone.

No front camera. Definitely.

A quick browse on the forum showed my photos, before a pointless to and fro debate needed to ensue...

Sorry my OMC has a front camera, can clearly see it inside to the right of the grille, can see the tinge of it the same as the back camera and every camera phone I've had. It is definetely there and as there is no way it can be used I have no intention of opening it up. However my friends OMC bought from ebay not orange, does not have this.
