i rooted my mobile and i have superuser app... i am using root explorer .. whenever  i try to modify any .cfg file under root then it gives me error saying that it's  read only file
. how can i edit the files

i want to edit /root/etc/hwvolumefactor.cfg

RootExplorer can do this. Or you can copy it to your sdcard, move the computer, edit and move back its original place. But you need a software like root explorer.
