Android hit a big landmark this week, 10 billion downloads!

Things are definitely picking up for Android, the 1 billion download mark was passed back in July last year and today market sees a billion apps downloaded every month! Android is now more popular than ever, back in May we heard that 100 million handsets had been activated and only last month we heard that in six months that number had doubled to 200 million.  

To celebrate, Google are running 10 days of offers, including 10 premium apps for 10p! ($0.10)

Every day market will have a different selection of top-quality applications, you may already have several but even if you don't the most you'll spend any day during the promotion is £1/$1

Be wary with Asphalt 6 HD though, it's not compatible with the SGS2 or Galaxy Nexus, but still lets you download it, then they blame you for not checking when you complain:

how to download Asphalt 6 to SGS2 ? It's not visible in Market app and not allowed to buy in WEB market ...

Bought 22 apps in three days and there's still 7 days of offers to come.. I already had a few but was really glad to get Star Chart, ADW, Tetris and a few others.  Hats off to Google for such a fantastic offer!
