With WebOS now open source, and developers trying to get it on their android devices. Is it possible for the blade/arm6 devices to get it?

Webos IS quite a fluid OS.even though it may be lacking in the apps department

It's not open-source yet. The older Pres were armv6 so there might be a way to port it.

Hi BlueAngel180 + Devs,

Yeah I too would welcome this OS to the Blade if at all its possible??

I am no programmer, and so I have no idea how easy / hard it will be?? Seeing as how WebOS (like Android and iOS) are based on the Linux OS / Kernel it should at least be more likely that trying to emulate Windows.

Really hope there could be a WebOS port ROM... would be sweet. :)

[joking] Can we port Windows Mobile?

[serious] As the Blade has exact the same hardware inside as the old HP 614c, guess it's just finding the keyboard/synaptics/etc... drivers for WM6 to run on the Blade LOL

:D

The webpage says it quite clear. It's the source code for several open-source projects used on WebOS, not the OS source itself. Most closed OS use some opensource packages. For instante, Windows includes OpenGL and OS X uses webkit on Safari, OpenGL, OpenAL... And, since that packages are originally open-source, they have to release the source for that packages including what they have modified because it's illegal not to do so.
