Is this a sensible thing to do?

I have an Orange Monte Carlo - it's my first smart phone, and following your guide it is now unlocked. So far so good.

Needless to say I want to get rid of most of the Orange bits and pieces, as they are just cluttering the phone up.

The easy way would probably be to flash a suitable ROM, but I'm wondering if the guide here

http://wiki.modaco.com/index.php/ZTE_Blade#Removing_the_stock_Orange_Apps

would be a sensible thing to do, in that I may actually learn something useful and may even dabble more with the SDK?

What do the people in the know think?

Just read through the pinned topics at the start of skate threads and you will know what to do :)

First get clockworkmod on your skate,

then you can install one of the many awesome roms we have here for the skate!

After you install clockwork mod, make a backup of your default rom. before you install a new rom. Do 3 wipes first. Wipe date, wipe cache, go to advanced and wipe delvik. you might wanna wipe batt stats too, the install new rom
