Option 1

This is TPT version that brings the easy installation and no troubles with partition layouts because the installation process will do the repartitioning automatically. There is no need for any pre-steps to be taken before installation. No root nor ClockworkMod is needed. You can install this rom directly to phone containing all stock (original) parts.

Flashing will erase all data in phone except data on SD card. Before installing be sure you have enough battery left.

I TAKE NO RESPOSIBILITY FOR ANY HARMS LIKE BRICKED PHONE, ETC. In case you would like to revert to original partition layout, flash one of the stock TPTs you will find in this forum or use TPT Helper app from Play store

Update 13/09/2012

New kernel added in the kitchen: "Ceco S2 rev1" featuring:

- support for additional light/prox sensors: ONA3301 and ISL29026

- touchscreen + LCD panel drivers updated - support for newer Skate models (GB_RU_P743TV1, ...)

- relevant config changes

This version of kernel doesn't suppor SFR Staraddict because it requires specific kernel config that breaks compatibility with other models.

This one will be available as additional option soon.

If previous "Ceco S2" kernel works in every aspect on your device then there is no need to update to rev1 version!

Anyway, it shouldn't cause problems, in case you do update but in case of problems return to original S2!

Hotfixes

1) Alarm info on lockscreen from any alarming app - APPLICABLE TO 2.4 ONLY

Download non-RTL version: http://tinyw.in/YLlF

Download RTL version: http://tinyw.in/4VGT

Nice work :) Shouldt people check the MD5 sums before doing a TPT, ive had a corrupted ROM serveral times if that happens to a TPT your screwed right?

Well, you have to extract ZIP anyway so if the download is corrupted you won't be able to extract ZIP so I would say it is safe even without MD5. (as ZIP has CRC check itself).

It would be more useful to have MD5 sum for image.bin - so you can check if it is correct after extracting ZIP to SDCard. Will add it soon in the first post.

Pretty tidy rom, nice and quick.

Any chance of slipping in the contacts from CM7? ZTE contacts dont join with other applications like linkedin, facebook etc?

Apart from that, nice work.

I found any zte based rom doubles up your contacts as opposed to joining them, regardless of contacts program used :/

Thanks for the release and welcome C3co new skate dev :D

You've deodexed so if you don't mind I'll post an RTL (right to left language) supported version for our exotic skate users....

I see you've included link2sd...any chance of including darktremors ap2sd script into the rom?

I find having native sd-ext support is much better than apps like link2sd...

Actually, now I think about it, only CM7 and CM9 work properly. Its wierd, never had an issue with the blade, just a case of dropping the AOSP contacts.apk & contactprovider.apk (I think, its been a while)

Thank you all for the positive feedback!! Appreciated.

Some screenshots added to the first post.

PedroVader: CM7 contacts, hmmm. Sounds nice but this colides with my main intention - to be as close to stock as possible. The more things you add from other roms the more there is potential of some stability (or other) problems. Would like to keep the rom reliable at all costs :)

Dadashi: What needs to be changed/added to enable RTL support? Please, more info on this. Thanx.

Regarding app2sd by Darktremor. Sounds good but I have to take a look at it first.

If there are any more recommendations for improvements I will think about all of them to be added to the next release (in case if people will be interested to have another release at all) :D

Ceco.

Tried the RTL patch from the link above (the latest one). The phone just won't boot using the patched framework.jar and libs...

What's wrong?

EDIT: Looks like 64bit windows is the culprit. Will give it another try under XP 32bit

Ok I have to first say that I don't think any GPU acceleration is enabled in your ROM, it was definitely more laggy overall until I tweaked the build.prop :P

Link to comment

Well, that's the conservative approach I am mentioning in the first post :)

Anyway, will do some tests in the near future to find out if there really are some tweaks rom could benefit from.

Fair enough :), just thought people would prefer the smoothness.

If it helps this is what I added to your build.prop:

debug.composition.type=gpu

debug.performance.tuning=1

video.accelerate.hw=1

media.stagefright.enable-player=true

media.stagefright.enable-meta=true

media.stagefright.enable-scan=true

media.stagefright.enable-http=true

Well, this looks nice but I would like to see some kind of comparison to get the picture of how these tweaks really affect the performance of the device.

Will probably do the tests myself to see if it really makes a big difference, or not.

Thanks, anyway :)

Of course, it is your ROM after all :P, and no problem.

I find the Orange stock Rom quite good with the battery life of my OMC, which is why i have not bothered to change it. How does the battery life compare? This Rom looks good as it does not, apparently, deviate too far from the stock Rom.

Also would it be possible to post a few more screen shots?

Battery life seems to be the same compared to stock one according to my experience. Of course it depends on how high you go with the overclocking.

Screenshots... What would you like to see? The current screenshots reflect the major changes and everything is basically the same as stock.

No changes in UI at all.
