HELP! Information overload!!!

Firstly - apologies for asking this questions when I'm sure the information lies somewhere in the forums, but my head is hurting trying to figure out where and how! I'm sure there is someone here who knows this straight off the bat!

I upgraded a phone to fish n chips from a old Gen1 custom Rom. The way I did this was: did a backup in old clockwork mod. used the CM7.1 TPT (upgraded the Clockwork mod, converted to Gen2, installed CM7.1), then copied FnC's zip onto SD, used clockwork to install (and obviously did all the necessary wipes, etc). Works brilliantly!

However - I left stuff behind in the old rom (namely a bunch of contacts I don't have anywhere else!). So I'm wanting to restore my backup. But now I have the GEN1/GEN2 bridge to climb!

My plan is - backup current rom as it is setup nicely -> convert back to Gen1 -> restore previous backup -> save contacts -> TPT to Gen2 -> restore FnC's backed up rom and restore contacts. Seems simple enough, but I'm scared and confused by the convert back to Gen1 and restore old backup!!!???

Please help me!

Many thanks!

Hmmm, That's what I first thought. But it states it only works if you used wbaw's original gen1-gen2 converter - which I didn't - I used a CM7.1 TPT.... Still safe to work?

The tpt gen conversion method was found by wbaw. All tpt's are based from his tpt's. Safe, but tpt is like flashing a bios - downloading errors can and will cause bricks. Check md5's if they match.

Titanium Backup can restore individual apps and data from CWM backups in the pro version.

Next time make sure you have everything backed up before flashing anything, so you don't get into a situation like this. Also how come your contacts were not synced to Google?
