MOTODEV have announced that us Europeans are now able to pre-order the Motorola RAZR Developer Edition.
The RAZRD (Motorola's codename is MOTDEVXT910, but thats too long), is available for pre-order from the Motorola Europe shop for 499 Euros, without warranty. For your 499 Euros you get a RAZRD with the usual specification, plus access to the MOTODEV site which will contain all support info for unlocking and relocking the bootloader, plus locating build files, as well as access to additional developer resources.
Motorola give the following warning:
Developer editions sold with an unlockable bootloader are sold "as is" with no warranty.
499.00 € translates to £417.30 GBP as of the 30th January 2012.
Motorola have given a short FAQ about why they are offering a RAZR with an unlockable bootloader, it boils down to:
Which to me means, we dont care about all our customers who bought RAZRs that will never be bootloader unlockable, but they are welcome to sell them and buy a new RAZRD. So would you buy a RAZR Developer Edition?
