Discussing rooting with a colleague at work, who asserts that the mere act of rooting a device can lead to decreased stability and more regular crashes. Bear in mind this is talking about just rooting the device - not the actions/mods/etc you might do once the device is rooted.
Is there any truth in this? He claims that the mere fact you're exploiting a vulnerability in the OS implies that you'll be compromising stability, but I can't see that this is the case (and haven't ever read any anecdotal evidence that would suggest this).
