Guest Klick
I have Gingerounay 3.0.1 + Technolover Kernel 1.2a installed. I would like to install PDroid on my phone (see here https://market.andro....privacy.pdroid) Has anyone tried that already? I'm a bit afraid to break my phone (again), since you need to patch the ROM before you can use the app. Regards Klick Description: What does this app do?PDroid allows you to block access to the following private data for any application regardless of its permissions:- Device ID (IMEI/MEID/ESN)- Subscriber ID (IMSI)- SIM serial (ICCID)- Phone and mailbox number- Incoming call number- Outgoing call number- GPS location- Network location- List of accounts (including your google e-mail address)- Account auth tokens- Contacts- Call logs- Calendar- SMS- MMS- Browser bookmarks and history- System logs- SIM info (operator, country)- Network info (operator, country)For device ID, phone and mailbox number, SIM serial, subscriber ID and device location it also allows supplying custom or random values. Why use this instead of another permission blocking app?- Applications do NOT crash when access to private data is blocked- Fine-grained tuning of access to private data- No background service needed- Very small memory usage- No impact on battery life- No impact on performance- 100% reliable unlike ROOT applications- No ROOT required for the app to run- No Android permissions required for the app to run- Configurable notifications on private data access Edited February 28, 2012 by Klick

Guest Klick
Just wanted to give a quick feedback. PDroid works fine with Gingerounay. :) Just generate a patch with the "PDroid patcher for Windows" (see here) and flash it. One important thing is: you need to mount the /system folder before flashing. Else it won't work! I can only recommend PDroid. It a great app that gives me back control over what information my apps can access.

Guest Klick
Try to use LBE Privacy Guard v.2. (Blue icon). I use this tool and have all same blocking permissions with out any needs patching rom and with out any bugs. ;) Don't you know: the most complicated way is always best! ;) Seriously, I know of LBE, but didn't test it. PDroid looked better to me, so I went with that one. And they claim that PDroid doesn't have some issues that LBE has (see here under "Why you want to use it"). Don't know if they are really that serious, though.
