Could you please offer step by step instructions for using this file? The speakerphone issue is bugging me too, but unfortunately I have no idea what to do with the file I just downloaded :|

Gladly,

goto market place, download astro file manager so you browse your SD card and install.

Move the skype into your SD card using some sort of card reader.

Goto the skype file with Astro file manager (previously installed) and click install and that should be you. Posted Image

Thanks for the instructions! However, I just tried to do that, but the installation process ended with it saying "application not installed".
Hmm, do I need to have my phone rooted for this?

You might not need it rooted but you do have to tick allow installations from unknown sources.

Settings
Applications
Tick Unknown Sources.

Hope this works.

I finally got it! I didn't realize that I had to uninstall skype before trying to install that file. Instead, I just kept trying to install over the original skype. Anyway... it works now, so many thanks! :)

Sorry should have mentioned that, because its not an upgrade it wouldn't install. Posted Image

One more thing. never turn on automatic updates or you will loose it.

Glad you got it working.
