Nandroid backup problem

(CWM 4.0.1.5) I've run into a problem which i can say is my mistake but is not very serious. Last weekend, I tried renaming my nandroid backup files on the computer while it was connected via USB. I did this becuase I found recognising the right ROMs a bit difficult with all the dates/numbers and all. This went well until I installed xiaoyaswim's MIUI Mix and Match ROM but I didn't have time to restore everything so I decided to reboot into CWM and restore my earlier Atomic backup. I tried to restore it but is came up with the message "checking md5s....." ---> "md5s not matched".:( I just simply went back to my MIUI rom which I had just installed and started restoring everything (Ti backup, contacts etc.). To sum up my question, is there any way that I could get my backups back as they were ?(like I could install them again if anything went wrong), but one of the backups is also my Stock Orange ROM. Also I am also a bit of a noob when it comes to CWM.

Thanks in advance tho ;)

easy way, is just to fill any gaps you've left between what you retitled your back ups to. cwm dosnt like gaps! you'd to place -_. ect, between the words like cm9-22-02-12-copy-with-softkeys , just don't leave any spaces. you can fill the gaps and still have your own discriptions :) if that makes sense..

I'm sorry I'm quite confused with what to do (ABSOLUTE NOOB)..... that link you gave me is quite confusing on what I have to do..... lots of ways to do it :(

no worries, I'm hoping you've got ADB installed on your PC already? if you've done it the accepted way it'll be in the root of your C: drive. Navigate to wherever it's installed, hold down "Shift" on your keyboard and right-click in the folder, in the sub-menu that pops up, select "open command prompt here" and you'll get something like the window below:

type the commands below replacing "2010-06-29.20.22.53" with the folder name in your "Clockworkmod\backup" folder

adb shell

# cd /sdcard/clockworkmod/backup/2010-06-29.20.22.53

The next step removes the MD5 tag in the folder

# rm nandroid.md5

The next step rewrites a new MD5, based on the files in the folder.

# md5sum *.img > nandroid.md5

takes about 30 seconds to a minute, when the last # appears its done.

when it's done, just reboot into recovery, and restore as normal.

Hope this helpswink.gif

edit: Looks like I took too long typing that up for youbiggrin.gif
