THIS ROM IS NOW DEPRECIATED. I DON'T HAVE THE TIME AND CAN'T BE BOTHERED TO PPUT IN THE EFFORT TO SUPPORT THIS ROM. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR ICS PLEASE LOOK AT COLDFUSIONX THREAD. OR IF YOU STILL WANT AOKP BURSTLAM HAS A GREAT PORT

I'M LEAVING THE POST BELOW FOR LEGACY PURPOSES.

This is a AOKP port for the ZTE Blade.

YOU NEED A 185 MB SYSTEM PARTITION MINIMUM FOR THIS ROM!

Rom Details:

  • Android 4.0.4 - Ice Cream Sandwich!
  • Synced with latest AOKP repos
  • 2.6.35 kernel - based on ZTE stock Skate kernel
  • Full HW acceleration makes it faster than Gingerbread

My sources:

  • Device - github.com/ICSFusionX
  • Kernel - github.com/tilal6991/kernel_zte_blade

Thanks go to:

  • Tom Giordano - being my mentor in developing for ZTE devices and basically being a general legend
  • CM Team for making an awesome ROM base
  • Skywave, Tom B and the rest of the ICS4Blade team - I, uh, "borrowed" a lot of their fixes
  • sej7278
  • drewis and Evervolv team - they were the ones that led me to enable OpenGL acceleration
  • The community - for testing and enthusing - I love doing what I do because of you guys

SEE SECOND POST FOR MORE INFO! FLASH ORDER:

  • First: you should get the GAPPs and ROM and put them on your SD card
  • Now FORMAT SYSTEM
  • Then flash the ROM and any patches (if applicable)
  • After this wipe data
  • Then reboot out of recovery and let it boot into the ROM
  • After you let it sit on the launcher for ~ 5 minutes then reboot into recovery again
  • Now flash the GAPPs zip
  • And reboot out of recovery
  • The ROM should boot
  • Let it sit on launcher for another 5 minutes to stabilise.
  • If you still have problems post on the thread.

Hmmm.... sounds nasty!

Just an advise: It's a good idea to replace the default bootanimation... and edit the translations for 'Disable bootanimation', as at least in hungarian it says 'Faszkalap!' when you tick it, and that's very rude... it means something like d*ckhead...

Can't wait to see how this turns out.

In burstlam's roms, disable bootanim gets translated to j*rk. Lol

NOOOO!

KEEP THE BOOT ANIMATION IT'S SICK!

*those who don't want it can just delete it from the ROM before flashing"

I think most users would replace or remove it as soon as possible. Another view: Remove it from the rom, and upload it as a separate flashable zip.

Coming today. Or tommorow.

can we not just get ZTE phone supported added to AOKP like Cyanogenmod?

its getting a bit ridiculous with all of these fusion ports of CM9, AOSP and now AOKP. nothing will ever get fed back into the main distro's and all development will be by one or two people instead of hundreds.

Cyanogen and AOKP don't want any devices apart from MSM7X30 and MSM8860. And the GN and Nexus S.

Miui will never support anything apart from ARMv7.

so are the blade/skate no longer going to be supported in CM9 or are they just not taking new devices?

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere they'd said it wouldn't be officially supported in CM9. Whether the release of the new drivers will change that stance I don't know.

I'm pretty sure they will be eventually supported. Just not any time soon though.

Ah cool. perhaps it was someones interpretation of that flow chart about your chances if there are no chipset drivers for your phone rather than a flat out 'no' from the CM team. I never got around to following the link referenced as to us not getting official support. And I can't remember whereabouts the post was now lol.

The flow chart has huge amounts of discrepancies and interpretations. The flow chart I think said 10% with no drivers and 50% with drivers.

Guest axebarauna

can we have ics softbuttons in aokp? Zip file for cm9 from forum will be compatible? Or is this possible to have a tick option to turn softbuttons on/off? I really want to try it :D
