Only purchased the Vivacity a couple of weeks ago, but looking to sell as I've had my fun with it after applying Fish N' Chip ROMs. It was my first Android smartphone, but sticking to my Nokia C7 for now as overall it is a better phone. If anyone is interested (Ebay item number 190664537766).

Don`t worry, I may have the SFII and its easy to say, but many many users love the Vivacity and intend keeping it. Though their`s reduced support on FnC I`m sure Raverrr will continue to help people, it's in his nature. On the ICS front and the Kang front the Vivacity is fully supported, we could even find a position one day where a ROM will work on the Vivacity and not on the SFII. These are always swings and roundabouts situations. The situation may even change at the drop of an hat, sometimes they do. I would like Touch CWM Restore on the SFII but alas it doesn`t work. But when I look at what both models support and how well they do I know we all made the right choices.

I can though understand people swapping phones after a while, I have 5-6 of my own and have got a new phone 3 times in a year before the day. Up until now I had the wish to change. Now I`m happy with the phone and the choices of ROM, its almost like having a new phone anyway and for me no contract to bind me. The phones, both Vivacity and SFII, are fun and a joy to keep hold of and use. Nor are they a slouch, but at the same time not overly expensive. I think you`ll be quite suprised at just how good the Vivacity is when you get it, unlock and debrand, then flash an alternative ROM to it. I also feel ICS 4.0.4, which works on both phones, may end up being the all powerful one in the long run when the WiFI, Camera and GPS are sorted. It already feels dead fast and smooth. All ROMS in beta go through this transition period so no problem there.

Thanx Reider....

Don't get me wrong....I love these ZTE devices.

My last phone was Blade [sanFran 1].....

Fantastic and diverse, perfect to learn Android, well supported, by raverr, Wbaw, all the other guys and gals....

My eldest son has it now, I put F&C on before I "donated" to him.....still on it!!!!!!

I saw him this wk-end, and he is incredibly happy with the ROM, so kudos to raverr and friends.....no doubt!!!!

So I look forward to the TMV....good luck to the wife getting it back for at least 2/3 weeks.....

Just on the Recovery question and the Capacitive keys.....are they catered for in CWM for TVM??

TIA

Atm yes - you need to flash the TMV o/c kernel (http://android.modac...erclock-kernel/) immediately after the SF rom

The specs above do not tell the whole story for the C7 and some Symbian devices. The following below are much better. However, I did enjoy the Vivacity and Andorid, but I don't believe Android is way better than Nokia Belle other than in the number of applications available. I will probably get another Android phone at some point, as Symbian is dying slowly and I enjoy the Android community and ability to take a cheap device and make it better than say an Iphone!

AMOLED screen (granted not as high resolution as Vivacity, but colours are better and less power drain)

Gorilla Glass

Nokia Belle better base storage management

Dual LED camera

720p video recording

IPlayer support (does not require rooting) and much faster

Battery life (Symbian less leaky).

Nokia Drive with free offline worldwide maps

USB on the go - you can plug a USB stick into the phone

VGA output

Yes, just read through the forums and its only slightly different for the Vivacity in CWM. Some people had a problem with one key and a workaround was sent to the forum to use another key instead. Their should be somewhere on the forum a description of the steps for the Vivacity as opposed to the SFII. But they are very very similar except the SFII has the hardware buttons and the Vivacity does not.

Just take your time, be careful, note the EMEI and the Mac Address somewhere safe before you start, take backups where necessary and put them safe and labelled well with a date on too (handy to refer to later). Don`t put yourself in a situation where you`re rushed or other people need to talk to you. Charge the battery fully before doing anything else.
