I'm pretty sure that it works on ICS and that I originally rooted while on stock Vodafone ICS.

Installation of a custom recover such as CWM or TWRP is a separate step.

If you want to install custom ROMs you need to

Root

Unlock bootloader (officially - don't use the old unofficial method mentioned elsewhere)

Install CWM or TWRP

Install custom ROM zip (after doing all wipes/formats etc.)

Install Google apps (for CyanogenMod ROMs or others that don't bundle gapps)

There is something i cant get about this. I want to root a g300 to install a custom GB rom (instead of all tutorials that seem to go for ICS or JB).

Should my steps be:

1-root

2-install CWM?? (does this mean i will have to change my baseband? because i do not want to... i want to install a 10980 based GB rom)

3-install rom

Is this it?

Root using this thread.

If you are on GB then there is no need to unlock the bootloader.

Install CWM - e.g. see here: http://www.modaco.co...l/#entry2002759

Installing will not change your baseband.

Download your ROM zip and install it using CWM.

Hope this helps
