MIUI (GB) final - ICS theme V2 (update 23/05/2012)

As you know, MIUI dev for liquid is stop for now, so i try to make a really strong final version of GB MIUI on liquid for FR, and translate for the english one's
The two last version (2.3.30, and 2.3.23) was not really perfect, tried to correct them with no success.

The change between these and the 2.3.16 ikaudroid version was very tiny, i decided to use the ikaudroid one as the strong base for this rom.

Anyway thanks to all the dev who works on MIUI since the first time  !

Version 2

what's new ? :

Complete redesign around the last Phoenix kernel, with of course good undervolt values​​ applied.
the good :

The Rom is more flexible, smooth and allows a better oc (smartassV2 possibility return without lag or freeze !).
The drain battery is quite the same, but beware, you will tend to push the oc compared to other versions, this has an impact on the battery.

the bad :
Proximity sensor always capricious (use sanity),

light sensor is weird (but hey, this is unuseful on miui).

Sorry no patch for V1.1 to V2, too much change.

New langage pack, don't forget to download it.

Adds-on and animation pack are the same.

So not a revolution, but a evolution

- flash (No signed)

- reboot (two or three auto reboot on the acer screen, it's normal, full first boot is above 5 min)

How-to strong et stable Overclock this MIUI :
V2 :
You could use any oc app (use smartass V2, noop scheduler)
else if you want a script by oc (no app) :

THEN READ THIS FIRST :
This is a exemple for oc to 1113 Mhz, if you know that your liquid don't support the 1113 Mhz, don't flash it like this.
You must extract the archive, edit the /system/etc/init.d/09cpu and change this line :
echo "put_your_value" > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_max_freq

then you redo the zip and you can flash.

edit : I've notice that i've better result with 1003 oc than 1113. I think that a undervolt kernel issue : the voltage value are better than before so we don't have FC on higher frequency. So we think it's good, but it's not and that could make some little bug (lag, app bugging...), not so demonstative that a FC or a Freeze, but due to high oc value (the bugs dissapear when you lower it). So maybe you may test with lowers values.

As i says, incredicontrol is no more need, becaus i've already fixed the underkernel values, so you could directly use your prefered app for oc.

If, like me, you prefer directly fix your oc values with a script in the /etc/init.d, you can ! ( no other app need, oc more stable )

Let's begin with these two script :
With this one, you could have 245-1113 Mhz oc, interactiveX (more stable on MIUI than smartassV2). (Flash no signed, NO WIPE) :

If your liquid doesn't support 1113 (it could happen), use this one :

If you want your own OC and governor values it's easy ! just edit the /etc/init.d09cpu script that you can find in these pack and flash the new one

Instuction for Dalvik-VM Fix for V1.1 before 16/05/12 :
(If your a new user (install after the 16/05/12) and if you have follow the install instruction, you've already done it).

After some days, i found that the Dalvik-VM optimisation was better, but not perfect. (mainly if you overclock the rom).
So i've made many test of many Dalvik-VM config. I've finnally have a good stable result (according to this topic : http://forum.xda-dev...d.php?t=1263119)
Now :
- i've more free Ram (between 8-15 Mo, really useful on A1 )
- Rom is more stable, and smoother.

I've add another tweak which spped up reboot time.

Install (read it carrefully ! ) :
- download the fix (post 1) according to your language.
- Flash it (no signed, no wipe before)
- WIPE DALVIK-CACHE (And only this one !)
- reboot twice
- Enjoy

First of all, thanks for this rom, I think I'll try it. Just a confirmation: a2sd & swappiness included means I don't have to flash a2sd or configure anything with a2sd gui, correct?

Thanks for your great works youpi666. I've been waiting too long for Undervolted Kernel on Miui. I dont like CM7 due to lack of visuality.

I would like to give u my friends' Turkish translated Rom based on iKraut's 2.3.16. I dont know how to compile a rom so can u take local files for ur Language pack. If u do it i'll be appreciated too much   and i can share this pack on our Turkish forum...

Yes a2sd and swap works out of the box

miui is a porting, so it's mean that we must have a good base rom to made it. But we don't have any good ICS rom on liquid so, it's will be difficult.
Sincerely, even with the improvement and optimization, I don't think that one day we have a full smooth working ICS rom on the liquid A1.

I don't know this app, so i've made some search. It touch to systemUI (if you use ics animation, it will broke it), framework.jar, and launcher2 so i think it's not.
And you must know that systemUI and launcher2 are language dependant so if you flash it, you will have english version.

But, if you want to be sure, you could nandroid and flash

In my opinion (i could be wrong, as i said i don't know this app ), if you want to add it, you should decompile your own 3 files, compare and add the changes of the originals one. Seems to be a long and hard way for an app which do few graphical tweaks

Ok thanks, I can not using all tweaks of extended settings, but i'm interesting specially to center clock, then i think only systemUI.apk (if i don't use ics animation should work). The mod "4-way reboot" overwrite android.policy.jar, this creates problems?
