Bump app update adds desktop photo sharing

Bump, the Android and iOS application used for transferring files between devices by (as the name suggests) 'bumping' them together, has now added support for photo transfer to desktop machines.

Actually, that's not entirely true... although that is the end product, the Bump application on your phone actually uploads the images to the Bump website which you can then in turn download to your computer, as well as sharing easily on social networks or sharing directly via a URL. There is no limit to the number / size of images you can store in this way.

The service works REALLY well, although I did notice that images are optimised for upload speed rather than quality so while the service provides a cool way to transfer images quickly, i'll certainly continue to use my Dropbox upload service to ensure I have full resolution images available too!

The beauty of the solution for me is that nothing needs to be installed on the target and as a technology demo, it's super impressive! :D

I've always liked the concept of bump and tended to keep it installed for occasional use... now I just found one more reason to keep it to hand!
