Hi guys,

G300 is on the way. Yes!

Now I need a micro SD card and a case for it.

Do I need a super fast SD card or will a "Class 4" on do? I'm looking at these two options -

I'm not sure whether to go soft case or hard???

Anyone got experience of these two?

Then it's just which ROM to go for??? I want to keep it stock Huawei - I've read that some people say the B885 ROM is very good once the Vodafone stuff is taken off. Is it better than B888? Where's the best place to get an up to date copy of stock Huawei 888 ROM?

i'd go for the 32gb MicroSD Card Class 10 & personally I'd go for the soft case(if your in the UK, there are sellers that have the soft cases & hard cases for sale on Ebay;so you wont have to wake 2/4 weeks for it)

I've got two of the soft cases that you linked to and they are very good. Good fit with grippy bits at the sides. Personally, I wouldn't get it from China though as there are a couple of UK sellers on eBay at the same or lower price.

The only reason I didn't get the second one from the same seller was that I wanted pink (for my wife) and the first seller didn't have any pink ones.

I havn't tried the hard cases because I don't think they provide the same level of protection as the soft ones. Whereas the soft cases wrap around the whole phone the hard ones leave quite a lot of the phone exposed.


With respect to the MicroSD card, I got this one http://www.mymemory....ader---Class-10 from MyMemory which is a class 10, arrived quite quickly and has been great.

I am thinking of getting a new sd card as my class 10 samsung 16gb is a lot slower than the 8gb version I have,so not to happy with it.
Anyway I am looking at these two,thought I would share:

Surely isn't the second one you linked to the same Samsung card that you already have. Would that not be the same speed or do you just think your existing card is faulty.

Yeah same one as linked above,but a different place,think I got last one from ebay.I done some tests,and the sd card was not performing with high enough speeds so I assume it is faulty since my 8Gb class 10 samsung has up to 40mb/s speeds.

edit: the one I suspect to be faulty would not reach higher than 14Mb/s.

I will show some screens of the difference......

The zte skate has the working sd card,and g300 has the suspected faulty card.

Thanks for the advice - I'll let you know what they're like when they arrive.

Now what stock ROM to go for???? A non Voda B885 (where would I get that from???) or a stock Huawei B888 (again which is the best download of that?)? I'm after stock Huawei (non carrier branded) - fastest most stable ROM. Not interested in fancy features.

Just a side note regarding Micro SDHC cards.

Be careful as there are so many fakes around that it's very easy to get caught out, just run searches on the card you decide on, so you know exactly what type of branding, packaging to expect and try to stay away from third party sellers on Amazon/ Play.com etc.

Anyway Sandisks are my preference as I have found them to perform a little better than Samsung but if you get a good deal, on a genuine card, from a good manufacturer then I'd just go for that. I got lucky a few weeks ago when play.com did a one day deal on this one for £6.99. http://www.play.com/...urlrefer=search I have watched a couple a films on it and it runs a smooth as  butter on my G300 :-)

Good point Rico - I was careful about 3rd party seller SD cards - made sure the one I ordered was direct from Amazon not from a 3rd party on behalf of Amazon.

I'll let you know how it goes when it arrives.
