My advice is always, backup, try flash non wipe, wipe if things don't work.

I have signal issues too, no drops but the phone connects to edge and then it takes minimum 30 seconds to connect to hspa. Sometimes it never connects to hspa. Airplane mode doesn't help. I have this with the new BB from the kitchen and the old XXLA2. At first I thought it is an provider issue, but when I switch back to ir14 or cm9 all is fine with my signal

I did a wipe and flashed one of your the earliest ROMs from the kitchen (version 28th June 11:00) and noticed that Gallery won't show all my files and when I connect my phone to my machine it only shows a few files.

It looks like it's a media scanner issue, and I've tried downloading a few media scanner apps from the Play marketplace as well as stopping/wiping data of the app but to no avail.

I'll probably have to re-wipe and try again unless some other bright soul has some ideas.

Hi,

tried to change LCD Density via:

- adb pull /system/build.prop build.prop
- (change from "ro.sf.lcd_density=320" to "ro.sf.lcd_density=280")
- adb remount
- adb push build.prop /system/build.prop
- adb reboot

But the GNEx doesn´t start again - any idea?


The only way to get it alive again is to reflash the ROM.

I didn't had any problems installing Superuser and SuperSU but I wasn't getting any prompts for granting root access, in Titanium and ES File Explorer. Had the phone for one hour or something like that and then when I opened ES File Explorer and Trackball Alert I did got the prompt, but not in Titanium... but Titanium is working good even if I didn't grant root access too that.

Paul, I'm having troubles with Wallet. Included it in my custom bake and it shows in \system\app but not in my app list. Downloaded your new patched version and replaced using Root Explorer but still doesn't show?

It seems to be hidden for us UK users.

Try doing 'adb shell pm enable com.google.android.apps.walletnfcrel' or seeing if it is 'diabled' in Settings -> Apps?

Doesn't show in Settings -> Apps.

In work/training so no adb, but worked perfectly in Terminal so sorted!

Just a heads up that I investigated the Apex Launcher issue and it needs some re-working by the dev for JB, hence i've removed it from the kitchen for now! Nova is OK tho.

I can't get Google Now to work, I launch it and it opens the app with the little mountain motif, but doesn't show any cards and then just takes me to a plain screen with a search bar.

Has anyone else had this issue and found a solution?  I have tried wiping and reflashing, but can't seem to get it to work.

My Google Now works fine. It picked up my location first time so did you enable Google to access your location etc in the setup? GPS on?

Google Now working as intended here. What did you leave out of the kitchen?

Attached is the options file.  My device is picking up my location OK.  If I do a search "What is the weather?" it brings up the weather for the correct location.

Hmmm.... regardless of whether I install over previous MCR, or whether I wipe first, my phone sticks on the "Google" padlock screen and doesn't even get to the boot animation. If I check ADB logcat I get the following loop:

Well that's the point at which it is stuck; there was probably more before that but I thought that would be the relevant bit. Currently re-downloading and if I have problems with that I'll try the pre-bake, thanks.

...then carries on as before. Seems to be unable to mount data, system etc. for some reason? I tried fix permissions, no difference. Just about to try pre-bake.

It's wierd as I can restore a Nandroid and that'll work fine.

I'm not sure how, but could it be anything to do with me having tried the non-MCR Jelly Bean ROM before this? Wouldn't make much sense but thought it was worth mentioning.
