Guest GoodGosh
Hi, I heard that Android 4 requires too much power for the budget ZTE smartphones (Blade/Crescent) so I was wondering what is the best ROM with regards to speed and overall functionality please? Thanks for your advice. PS I did search but the only two results were the Fish n Chips and Cyanogen ROM threads
Guest gabriwinter
I like harrybao ROM as its near stock with all the goodies, but there are many fast and functional ROMs give them a try. PD. If you have osf2 and want to try out harrybao flash osf2 kernel after.
Guest GoodGosh
Hi gabriwinter, thanks for replying. The kernel file you refer to, is that a small file about 3mb? Thanks
Guest Dazzozo
"Power" is an interesting term to use... I'm pretty sure it's the same battery. :P ICS actually performs pretty well if you're talking in benchmark terms, I think I managed to get it to beat FnC once. Guest GoodGosh
Hi Dazzozo, thanks for replying with the ICS suggestion. Do they make an ICS for the Crescent? On the Crescent front page (this site) all I can see stickied are Fish n Chips and Cyanogen. Thanks again
Guest Dazzozo
CM9 is ICS.
Guest chris231
yeah Daz's CM9 gets a big thumbs up from me <_< Quick, stable and all the features your likely to want. Try it
Guest raverrr
Cm9 performs better than fnc in several places as to be expected from a newer OS. to an everyday user however the difference isn't noticeable. Its a question of taste. Try both :)
Guest Dazzozo
Yeah, it's pretty hard to make comparisons like the ones you're after. Everything here is pretty fast, to be honest.
Guest gabriwinter
Hi gabriwinter, thanks for replying. The kernel file you refer to, is that a small file about 3mb? Thanks yes that's right you can flash the oc_kernel and use setCPU like apk for overclocking
Guest GoodGosh
Hi guys, thanks very much for your input. I opted for Cyanogen 9 after I debranded and returned to stock the phone was really slow but CM9 seems to make it sparkle. I might try harrybao that gabriwinter suggested later on when I'm in the mood for experimenting. Thanks again, Modaco rules :)
