Jetpack Joyride, a critically acclaimed and wildly popular on iOS game from Halfbrick Studios (of Fruit Ninja fame), is finally available for Android courtesy of the Amazon Appstore.

Available to download for free, Jetpack Joyride sees you take on the role of 'Barry Steakfries', who is tasked with 'breaking into a secret laboratory and commandeering the experimental jetpacks from the clutches of evil scientsists'. :P

The game couldn't be easier to play - touch the screen to go up and release to drop back down. As you dodge obstacles in your path (which come in the form of platforms, rotating platforms, lasers and homing missiles amongst others) you can use power-ups purchased using coins collected in game (or available via in app purchase) to boost your chances of survival.

The simplicity of the game doesn't mean that it's gameplay is short lived... it's very addictive! Achievements and an online scoreboard encourage you to have 'one more play', not to mention earning the aformentioned power-ups.

Hopefully Jetpack Joyride will soon appear on the Google Play Store as well as the Amazon Appstore, as the latter is US only (although you can work round this with our guide!).

If you do have Amazon Appstore access, you can grab the game now and also earn yourself a free $1 Amazon MP3 credit.
