Hello,

I have Idea Blade (ZTE Blade with 256 MB RAM) with Gen 2 stock layout (220MB system, 37.5MB cache, 162.5MB data) and I would like to change it to Gen 3 v2a (160MB system, 2MB cache and 279MB data) as per the layout given in http://amphoras.co.uk/index.php/downloads/blade-tpts#g3v2a so that I could get more space to install apps in data partition. Also KonstaT's ROMs (including CM10) + gapps fits well within 160 MB system partition, so I could save (220 -160) MB = 60 MB more space for apps in data partition.

Is it possible to change the TPT layout without bricking the Idea Blade as per the procedure given in http://amphoras.co.uk/index.php/downloads/blade-tpts#g3v2a?

That TPT doesn't even work for stock GEN3 phones (neither does ANY TPT that doesn't have the stock partition setup) so i sincerely doubt it will work on a phone that it was not even intended for in the first place. The Idea blade is NOT a GEN3 device, it's a completely different device that is somewhat compatible with GEN2.

Thanks for providing prompt response.

Is there any way I can use the unused space remaining in ROM system partition for installing user apps or moving user apps from data partition to system partition?

Sure, you just have to install it into system instead, either make an update package for CWM flashing (or copy them to the system folder in your ROMs update.zip) or push them into place using ADB.

As soon as they are updated they will reside on /data again though so it's a pretty horrible solution.
