Nexus 4

If I had the cash I'd have a Nexus 4 in a heartbeat. I'm fed up with Huawei's crappy software, and seemingly forgotten ICS upgrade. I'd love a phone that is actually supported by Google themselves

Yeah 8GB this day and age is a bit shoddy but I dont particularly use onboard storage much nowadays - most of my stuff is in the cloud or streamed so its not so much a big deal for me. I still have a 2GB microsd card i bought with my G300 ages ago and it isnt full yet

It's such a good deal, but it is a lot more than my previous phone purchases... Decisions decisions. Also they'll blatantly bring the 16gb one down in price after a few months, like they did with the nexus 7! (still a bit bitter about that)

thats the only reason im not getting 1 either tbh :(

The trouble is the bigwigs at Google don't realise that some of us don't have unlimited data plans to take advantage of cloud storage for streaming music etc. Also coverage isn't always sufficient. Not to mention the drain on battery life.

Of course by including Micro SD they wouldn't be able to rip people off with massively increased prices for extra internal storage.

i wanted to get one until i noticed the storage is crippled... (for my usage)

how much of the actually 8gb will be available for storage.. on my 8gb o2x its only 5.5gb

since games are hitting 2gb theses days and my music and videos are about 2gb, plus any newly recorded 1080p videos in the future,

i would never have enough space... and always be needing to remove something, even with a 16gb version....

to be honest i'm gutted, would of had this any day with expandable memory :(

It will be 5.5gb. It's 5.5gb on the 8gb Nexus 7.

I don't even use 2gb on my tablet so it's never going to bother me.

They explained the reason for leaving out. As much as I would miss the extra storage, I can totally see their point.

You must be very naive if you believe that to be the reason for lack of external storage.

Whilst the technical reasoning makes sense, their manipulation of the N7 market by bringing out a 32GB version later shows the real reasons as I stated earlier.

for anyone gutted about the lack of external microSD (like me)

the huawei honor 2 looks like it has similar specs for around £180 (if it translates from yuan)

2GB RAM

qaud core

microSD slot

4.5 inch 720p display

price: 1,888 yuan / £188

The most lucrative thing about nexus line of devices, for me, is the official rom support. Huawei are lacking in the opensouce deparment a little. :( Impressive device though.
