I have a ZTE Blade, had it for nearly 2 years now on contract and I have recently seen a Vivacity for around £64. Not sure if it's worth upgrading to. Specs wise there doesn't seem to be that a great of a difference. What are people's opinions and why? Thanks.

If you're gonna upgrade, get a Huawei Ascend G300.

I wouldn't get either, as they're not enough of an upgrade over the Blade in my opinion. Your phone can run ICS with practically all the features running, unless you need a bigger screen I'd wait. Yes the g300 is better specs-wise, but the developer support for the original blade is immense, which means it almost has feature parity.

I used to have a blade and I battered it!!! The glass on the front was completely smashed but it still worked fine! I replaced it with a blade 2 (crescent aka orange san francisco 2) this summer. Unfortunately it is not really any sort of upgrade, it's a little bit better but not much and as someone else has said the developer crowd is more aimed at the older version not this so there doesn't seem to be as good as choice in terms of ROMs.

I got this phone because I currently live in Italy and contracts are stupidly over priced here to get the latest phones but I moving home soon and I'm thinking about getting a nexus 4! I'm no expert about android (far from it!) but if you're going to install a custom rom, pay attention to the processor in the phone, the biggest issue (for me) with the blade 2 is the processor version is so old that there aren't the true updates to android (ie 4.0+).

I know there are ROMs supporting these versions of android but they're emulations I think? But I could be completely wrong!

PS I bought my girlfriend the vivacity (the t-mobile version) and she loves it! I installed cm7 on both but I don't know if this is the best rom or what, it's just the one I'm most used to using since the blade 1.

No, they aren't Emulations, some features don't work, but they are the real android versions

@KindredPhantom yeah it's really not worth upgrading to the cresccent,it's just a little bit faster than the blade and there are fewer roms
