How to root my T-mobile vivacity

It's as new software-wise. Could anyone give me any pointers as to the best way to root it?

Only way to root is to install Clockworkmod then flash a rooted stock rom

But when i install clockworkmod it says it's for rooted devices only?

You don't need root to flash CWM via TPT
