Presenting Lightning ROM, created by me Kyan31 for the Huawei Ascend G300 . This ROM is based on ICS 4.0.3 (B952), and is focused on being feature packed, but also being a good performer. All ICS LWPs And Static Wallpapers
Stock ICS Camera (800x480 recording)
Volume Rocker Wake
Tweaked Build.prop
Init.d Tweaks
Latest JB Library Files
Fixed Storage
Stripped Most Google Apps (Except the Play Store of course ;))

CM Torch
CM Music App (Apollo)
CM Browser
CM File Manager
More App Compatibility (Changed Device Name To Desire HD)

Other stuff I can't remember :P

You MUST be on the 2030 baseband to use this ROM, if you are not, update to stock ICS and unlock your bootloader etc. Read the stickies for more info, or ask me for help.

Installation Instructions:
  • First time user
  • Download the ROM, and put it on your SD card
  • Boot into recovery
  • Wipe data/factory reset
  • Wipe cache partition
  • Choose zip and then choose the rom
  • Reboot
  • If using TWRP, do not allow it to fix root if it prompts you to. Root is fine on this ROM.
  • If coming from another version of Lightning ROM
  • Wipe cache
  • Wipe Dalvik cache
  • Choose zip and then choose the ROM
  • Reboot
  • If using TWRP, do not allow it to fix root if it prompts you to. Root is fine on this ROM.
The first boot takes longer, so have patience. I recommend giving the device 5 minutes before you use it, to ensure a smooth experience.

If you enjoy this ROM, please press the +1 button. It's free. I put a lot of effort into creating this, so please support me. It motivates me to continue working :D

You can also +1 the FAQ if you haven't already as it gives me a better rep :P

Thanks :)

FAQ UPDATED 23/04/2013

NOTICE

Only report bugs if you have done full wipes!

The Google Talk link has been fixed, it must of been wrong since R1 but no one ever told me. Well, it's all good now.

If you are on Lightning ROM 5.5/5.5.0 and you still get bugged to update, turn off the notifications within the OTA Updater app. Sorry for the minor inconvenience.

FAQ

Q: Will I still have my 'Link2int' apps after an OTA update?

A: No, as the OTA update will remove Link2int and 'may' wipe the internal storage. If you are brave enough, you can try the update anyway, but I can't guarantee Link2Int still being there after it's done.

Q: The OTA update wont download! What's the problem?

A: My OTA servers are based on Solidfiles, so if Solidfiles doesn't work for you, the OTA update wont work either.

Q: I cant download any of the addons as they are all uploaded to Solidfiles! Do you have a mirror?

A: I sure do, HERE you go. The zip itself is not flashable, but it's contents are. The zip contains most of the addons available for Lightning!

Q: How can I send MMS messages without enabling data?

A: You need to change this in build.prop from false to true

ro.config.hw_always_allow_mms=false

Q: How do I remove that annoying "WiFi disconnected" message?

A: You need to change this in build.prop from true to false

ro.config.hw_remindwifitopdp=true

Q: What exactly is the Supremacy Trilogy script?

A: Supremacy Trilogy is a script that enhances the phone, here are the features:
  • Cleaned up
  • MUCH better Ram usage
  • Cache Cleared at every boot
  • SD speed tweak
  • Logger removed
  • Better browser performance
  • Sysctl tweaks
  • Added modified Zram script
  • Better battery life
  • Lag? GONE
  • Faster GUI
  • Loopy smoothness tweak
  • Apps zipaligned at every boot
  • Faster Networking
  • Smoother LWP animation
  • Adrenaline boost
  • Kernel Tweaks
  • Better gaming
The XDA thread is HERE if you need more information about it.

Q: What do the Lightning ROM wallpapers look like?

A: They look like this:

Attached File  wallpaper1.png   12.08K   237 downloadsAttached File  wallpaper2.png   12.11K   224 downloadsAttached File  wallpaper3.png   11.65K   215 downloadsAttached File  wallpaper4.png   29.19K   206 downloads

Thanks PcTechRoss for the wallpapers :)

PCTechRoss has also made some new wallpapers, and they look awesome. Expect to see them in a newer release of Lightning ROM!

HI,

I got an error when rebooting from CWM, something to do with root/SU. I clicked back and didnt read all unfortunately. I imagine its related to what you have put in the OP.

Seems really quick based on these first few minutes of use. Ill let you know how it goes.

You need to download Super-SU from the play store. Its free:

https://play.google....e.supersu&hl=en

I will update the OP so everyone is aware. Can you confirm working root?

Yes, root is working.
Recomendation for your next release would be to use the toggles, messaging, clock and home from the Huawei P1 apps.

The messaging and home are really smooth on this.

OK, thanks for the ideas. I might just make a flashable zip for the P1 apps as I dont think everyone wants them.

EDIT: Which file contains the toggles?
