So I know I would be completely unsuccessful in doing this on my own. I need to be able to send text messages from a blocked or custom number from my phone. This needs to be the way the phone sends texts. I have a program from DRPU to send texts from my desktop using my phone as the gateway. The issue I have is that the texts show from the number assigned to my phone. If anyone can help let me know. Compensation is available. Guest maniac_mouse Posted January 20, 2013 Report Share Posted January 20, 2013 (edited) You want to fake the caller id in order to spam multiple recipients i presume?, cant you just use a purely online sms gateway service and cut out the phone alltogether? If its using your phones sms function, could you not just block the caller id in the handsets settings? What DPRU program are you using?, bit hard to help unless we know that. Using an online gateway would cost quite a bit more, doing it this way would be a one time investment. My apologies :) I dont think its easy to block an sms number, I have just discovered my suggestion to block caller id doesnt work with texts. If you dont need to do this too frequently, a second sim could suffice, just pop it in when you want to send the mass sms`s. There are also multi sim adaptors that let you install and switch between 2 sims on the same phone. Failing that, maybe buying a cheap or second hand phone that you could dedicate to the task would be an idea.
