Uploading new Baidu v2 custom tonight...

Base is Baidu v2 official, customised by Chiwah

Added init.d kernel support, BusyBox added
V6_SuperCharger and KickAssKernel ics
Improved smooth sliding effect, enhanced smoothness
Rom is deodexed
No advertising apps

Removed chinese apps
Few small addons: Baidu Browser, MIUI camera, Shendu File explorer

I won`t make a new topic for this.
Not much difference from v20 on the surface.
I noticed it is much more responsive after installing keyboard, changing lockscreen to slide and reboot?
This one has no slide effects for home screens (v20 does)
If someone wants to play with it, rom is in folder in the link from the first post.
Installation goes as for v20 from the same post.

Well, those moddings made few rom areas faster a bit, but impressions regarding overall quality are on
v20 side.
V2 is stabile release (based on older releases) and Chiwah modder tried to make it even better,
but v20 brought many improvements and it is definitely better one.
I cant say this for game use, or other specific uses - I didn`t try those

That croatian pack is only HwIme pack - croatian keyboard with few extra letters.
This rom is only chinese/english release with chinese stuff removed by me, nothing more.
I doubt that you`ll find a good solution for localisation. But, who knows?

great i look forward to it, can i flash over the top of v20 or do i need to do full wipes then flash?

there will be an ota update cleared of chinese stuff, either by dakok or me, that you can flash right on top of v20, without any wipes

Thanks, mate, Im glad that someone more experienced than me is
willing to bring this really good and perspective rom to public eye.

All I did was removing few apk`s and deleting a folder and three lines of code.
Pitty that no one (of experienced users) from this forum hasn˙t done this before
properly.

but i do agree - most are immediately associating anything chinese with low quality, and that may very well have been the case in the past, but the same was thought about the japanese a few decades ago, and korean just years back...

My thoughts, exactly . Really.
And when you think about the fact that we all bought a china phone... Maybe some are ashamed of that.

Nevertheless, I am scared of malicious chinese code just as much as of google`s one (or any other).
Just imagine folks presenting their private lifes on web, and then scared to use a piece of "foreign" software. Funny.
I am not fooling myself about civil rights and privacy in China.
But I`m sure west has its own misterious ways too .

don't worry, it does have offline log collecting for bug reporting purposes, but in the original version you can disable it in the developer tools, and in our english repacks it is completely removed althogether

the only difference between oppressive and "open" societies, is that when you get shafted from behind by government, in one you have to be standing upright, saluting and smiling all the way, and in the other you are "free" to assume a more comfortable position and protest all you like, but you will be getting shafted either way...
