ParanoidAndroid 3.15 - Hybrid UI ROM for the ZTE Crescent - Android 4.2.2[quote name='C3C0' timestamp='1359646345' post='2083806'This is my build of ParanoidAndroid that's based on AOSP 4.2.2

Since AOSP has no support for armv6 devices anymore I decided

to go way of reusing all the necessary low-level system parts from CyanogenMod.

Framework part (apps, settings, ...) is vanilla AOSP with PA specific features on top.

Additionally, I ported some well-known must-have features from CM, like:

- volume key cursor control in textfields

- clear all recents

- performance options (purging of assets, boostpulse, 16bpp)

This is a rom in development process. ParanoidAndroid 2.99 is still in BETA stage.

Therefore it is suitable for advanced users only not whining about all the well known problems

or missing features. Please, don't ask where the features you may know from CM are.

They are simply not there. This is AOSP PA, not CM!

I might port some of the most requested ones over time, but can't promise anything since

some of them require huge changes and I don't want to get out of sync with PA repos too much.

There's currently no percent battery indicator at all. So don't ask where to find an option for it.

After having used the initial release for some time I can safely say it's stable enough for daily use.

Prerequisites

- ROM fits on 200MB system partition including my stripped gapps package

Installation instructions

- Download ROM, Gapps ZIPs to your SD card

- Boot into clockworkmod

- Backup your current ROM (optional but highly recommended)

- Wipe Data / factory reset

- Wipe cache

- Advanced / Wipe dalvik cache

- Mounts & Storage / format system (just to be sure)

- install zip from SD card - choose ROM zip

- install zip from SD card - choose Gapps zip

- reboot

- let it settle for couple of minutes until media scanner finishes its media scanning job. Otherwise UI might be a bit laggy.

- complete google setup and press Home if there's blank screen instead of launcher showing

Respect and credits go mainly to Tilal and KonstaT for doing all the dirty

work to bring JellyBean to ZTE devices and the whole androidarmv6 project team, Paranoid Android team, and all the others

involved. Special thanks to daemond for great patches solving the remaining issues (sound routing, HW VSYNC, video playback, ...) ]

P36V is working fine for me.The pie menu is clearly awesome, I can go in "expanded desktop mode" and get as much ergonomy as before with a cleaner screen :). The phone part is working well.

But I regret certain things although :

-The loss of the 'system' menu in parameters, I can't edit some function like in the PAC and CM10.1. More over the 'Advanced' section doesn't start :/. And the stock music player is somewhat buggy, but I don't care. I miss the ability to take a screenshot from the 'System menu' and customizing it of course.

Hope you could solve thoses 'cause I can't wait for the 'advanced part' :P. I love your work :) I will post some screens later.

You can take screenshot by pressing volume down and power button at the same time.

I've recently ported circle battery style from CM. I even managed to hook it to PA per-app coloring so it follows the color settings.

It's good to see some new 4.2.1 development besides daz's work.

Thank you for all your work.

Keep it up.

What do you mean? As the OP states this mostly is the same device config :P

Can anyone tell me if or how I can change the threads name ?

If I can't do it myself, can anyone change it to

Guest cramhead

I noticed there are no ringtones or alarms or notification sounds.

I took them from here

and place them in

/sdcard/media/audio/alarms/

/sdcard/media/audio/notifications/

/sdcard/media/audio/ringtones/

/sdcard/media/audio/ui/

then reboot

Anyone know how I can get toggles in the notification pull down?
