Hello everyone!

This is the first custom ROM for LAVA iris 501 based on stock kernel. In this thread you'll find all my custom ROM for LAVA iris 501 / Prestigio Multiphone 5000 DUO (MT6577). Please be sure to read this carefully in order to avoid unnecessary questions.

Do not mirror my files, as I will always make sure links are working. Instead, please share the link to this thread.

Review of LAVA iris 501:

LAVA iris 501 (MT6577)

Details:

• Based on official Android 4.0.4 ROM (LAVA release: LAVA_IRIS501_S105_20121219; Stock kernel)

• Kernel 3.0.13

• Removed all trial applications and gapps which can be downloaded from Play Store

• Changed boot animation

• Replaced camera app with stock ICS camera

• Fixed mms app (Sender photo issue)

• Enabled MediaTek EPO and A-GPS settings under Location services menu

• Enabled Speech category (Voice search and TTS output) under Language & input menu

• Fixed the bug related to the association of caller identification (CID) with contacts, due to country code prefixes

• Integrated the latest version of Google apps (101 error and 902 error resolved)

• Added FreeSpace and SuperUser

• Rooted (no need to root phone with third party applications) with SuperUser application (v3.1.3) and su binary (v3.1.1)

• Busybox (v1.20.2) installed

• Updated APN list (apns-conf.xml)

• Added AdFree hosts to system hosts file

• Added stock ICS LatinIME and dictionary pack

• Added some build.prop tweaks to improve pictures and video quality, increase touch responsiveness and improve battery life

• Updated Google Play Store (v3.10.14)

• Updated YouTube (v4.3.9)

• Updated TZ data (Time zone data)

• Wifi (& Wifi tethering)

• Bluetooth (& BT tethering)

• GPS

• Audio (playback/input/routing/headphones/etc)

• FM radio

• Hardware acceleration and OpenGL rendering

I am sure you have improved the ICS Experience on this Device.

Not sure If I would flash it or wait for JB, but this was needed for this phone for sure..

Thanks dude. Yes this was needed. Now we have atleast one bug free ROM which can be flashed using cwm recovery.

And JB update can only be flashed from stock recovery. I think u are on cwm now. How will u go back to stock recovery? I dont think its available on the internet?

I am afraid that i will play with my phone's firmware as this phone hardly have any forum support. Flashing cwm recovery and installing custom roms is all i could do with this phone.

when i am ready to install through cwm recovery then it is said that signature failed.. what is this means..

Check md5 sum and it can only be flashed thru cwm recovery. Not from stock recovery..

I've just brought the Prestigio 5000 and your posting looks like excellent work - if possible could you do a step by step explanation of the whole process for a very confused newbie!

MTK6577 repartitioning tool messed up my system  partition and after that I saw that CWM backup didn't backup almost anything.

Is there a  system.img dump for PAP5000T (it can user LAVA 501 dump?)

Thanks a lot for Lava 501 update and new custom ROM.

Managed to flash all with flash tool and update zip from CWM, all working on PAP5000T  .

Lifesaver, but currently on Lava branding.

PAP5000 full ROM dump would be appreciated.

Flash THIS rom first and then flash the addon there in the post !!
