Guest tabish.imran
hi everyone , im buying a xolo x900 next week , and i've heard a lot about the infamous heating issues ... question 1 -- how bad is it ?? question 2 -- apart from reducing clock speed ( which doesn't work btw ) are there any known fixes ?? question 3 -- do OSD users get this too ?? or is it only in the xolo ?? has anyone tried heat sinks or something ?? someone told me that placing a sheet of aluminium foil between the back cover and the phone can reduce heating ( more like evenly distribute it ) <-- would that work ?? thanks in advance ... cheers

Guest tabish.imran
well .. 95% of the people who used the x900 say that it crosses 50 C within 10 minutes of heavy usage , and they tried clockin it to 600 mhz , lol , but that didnt work either ..... Guest tabish.imran
what happens if you ignore the heat , and keep using it ?? will the processor be damaged ?
Guest shootomanUK
tbh i dont know, probablly the phone will just crash and switch off i think maybe the heating issues are only in some handsets, its like anything you buy is not 100% guaranteed not to be faulty
Guest i am not a hacker
Mine has never reached 50c. After a few hours of usage while charging it peaked at 43. It shouldn't be an issue. It just gets hot. Once I've had it overheat and it said charging could not continue due to overheating. But overall the overheating is manageable and shouldn't prevent you from buying this. I had it on both the xolo and orange rom
Guest BlueMoonRising
I did replace my first one due to overheating causing a 1cm square white patch on the screen, the replacement is much better. I think Ricky improved his by loosening 3 or 4 screws(torx screws?) around the processor area. It's not just the processor by the way, all the radio transmitters are in the same area, I find it running hottest when browsing but it's never caused a problem. I would be wary of putting metallic foil inside the case by the way. Edit :- And all powerful smart phones run hot. Guest glossywhite
If you want a camping stove, buy a Galaxy S2 :D
Guest BlueMoonRising
why ?? can u explain ? Because it's metallic... Not a good idea when you can't guarantee what it's touching when you snap the back on.
Guest tabish.imran
LOL , bro , right now im confused between the xolo x900 and galaxy s advance .... i know that the x900 has much better specs than the s advance, but overheating is not the only problem that the people reported , there are weak signals , camera malfunctions , ruined touchscreens etc ... <--- i like the x900 a lot , but i'm a little worried about wasting my money ... Guest DaveSimonH
Usually for me the phone only gets warm, if I play a graphically intensive game then it can get hot and show the little patch on the screen (then I just put it in standby for 10mins and it goes away). I watch a lot of YouTube videos, it rarely gets too hot doing that. I have noticed though that if I use the phone for intensive stuff while charging it heats up quicker. Makes sense considering their poor design decision to put the gpu, cpu, charging port etc right next to each other. But saying all that, I've had the phone since the end of December and I've not had any problems. Well worth it, especially if you can find for around £100.
