How big is the data partition?

For when anyone gets one. :D Wondering how many apps I can fit on it as my SGS 1 is fairly luxurious in that regard compared to the Blade 1!

This is pretty much the only thing left I need to know before buying one.

Thanks.

I presume the 2gb user accessible refers to internal SD card? Meaning 2gb is split between system, cache, data and whatever else? So it's that split that is of interest to me.

When I go to 'Storage' in Settings, the following two partitions are evident:

Internal Storage - total 0.98 GB (Apps 649 MB, Misc. 127 MB, Available 232 MB (it's worth noting that there's nothing available about that 232 MB! The phone won't let me install any more apps unless I transfer some to my SD card).

USB Storage - total 1.49 GB (Available 1.45 GB).

The third entry pertains to my actual 32 GB microSD card and is irrelevant.

So I'm pretty irritated that ZTE decided to partition the memory in this way. That 1.45 GB isn't doing anything useful at the moment. I'd have liked to keep all my apps on the same partition. Do you think a future ROM may be able to merge these partitions?

Edit: Oh yeah, and there's the case of the missing 1.5 GB...

Thanks for that!

The USB Storage is internal SD. But its small size in a phone with an SD card slot doesn't leave it good for much! Does the phones rom favour using it or the external card if an external card is present? For stuff like apps moved to sd in android_secure and obb files for apps etc? My SGS favours using the internal even if an external is present but it at least is a more useful 6GB

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.devasque.fmount is good for moving folders from one sd card to the other. And in Android 4.2 and older you can swap the internal and external sd cards if need be.

Don't forget the system, boot, cache, recovery partitions from your 'missing' 1.5GB :)

Hey. I just moved an app to "SD card" and it went to the "USB Storage"/internal SD. Does that tell you everything you want to know or would you like me to do/test/check something else?

Yeah that does thanks. That's actually a bit limiting as that means you can only move 1.5GB of apps to the SD card. I seem to have over 3GB right now! Some how...

I'm going to need to be able to swap the SD card mounts - which should be possible in Android 4.1
