If your phone can't boot or is ''bricked'' you can fix them.

Thanks to Snap.IT

NOTICE: NOT WORKING ON WINDOWS 8!

If you have WINDOWS 8 install VM Ware Player and install WINDOWS XP (recomended), Vista or Win 7.

I'll give you direct instructions but i won't write a tutorial on the subject because i simply don't have the time.

I'm going to ask you to unpack it to c:\DFU, it's unimportant where you actually unpack it but i'm using that path in my instruction.

1. Since you have the drivers installed i'll skip this step.

2. Download and unpack http://www.mediafire.com/?xwp44vbn4hfb4th  to c:\DFU

3. Start your phone in DFU mode (press and hold vol- and vol+ as you attatch the USB cable)

4. Use the filemanager (explorer) to navigate to c:\DFU and start the executable MAL_DFU_tools.exe

5. On the upper right side, enter c:\DFU\update1

6. On the left side ONLY click the checkbox next to recovery.img MAKE SURE ALL OTHER CHECKBOXES ARE CLEAR

7. On the lower right side there are two buttons, click the one to the left

8. Wait for the process to finish, remove the back cover and the battery, wait a few seconds and insert it again

9. Press and hold vol+ and power until you get to CWM recovery, flash whatever ROM you'd like.

I don't know if this will work since i don't know what you have done with your phone and you refuse to point me to the file you tried to install but the alternative is to get a dd from someone elses phone.

 ZTE Blade III

1 installed  MIUI V5 3.11.18

2 has come update

3 I updated

4 a result  "bricked"

help!!!

You updated to what? Gonna need more information than that.

AFAIK there is no other version of MIUI for the Blade III than KonstaT's.

What do you mean by "bricked"? Can you reach recovery? Exactly what happens when you turn on your phone?

Failure to answer any of the questions and provide links to what you have installed on your phone will end the conversation directly, i'm not going to try to figure out what you have done so if you don't want to tell me you can fix it yourself.

Yeah, it's dead forever or at least until you get a hold of someone with a JTAG programmer that can help you with it, i'd say that will cost you about as much as buying a new phone.

I've previously warned against installing that crap in the MIUI thread, it updates parts of the phone that should NEVER be touched except for actual official updates, things like the bootloader.

installed  custom ROM MIUI MIUI V5 3.11.18 on the Russian website

No link, no care. But someone else posted a link to some Russian website before, someone linked a ROM from there and it was the epitome of a "killyourphonewewill" type of thingie.

Yeah, ROM's you get from other places CAN kill your phone permanently, always check the updater script and make sure it mounts and installs to the correct partitions and that it doesn't try to install things into OEMSBL or EMMCBOOT which these ROM's do. If you don't know how to do that, stick with the stock ROM's or KonstaT's ROM's because they are safe, there is no way to kill your phone using any of them.

thank you

You're welcome, sorry i can't be of more help but it's too far gone now.

I've been working on a way to restore the bootloader using QPST but i've got a lot of other things to do so it's not something i've looked into for a while, i'll let you know if i find a way to fix it. :)
