Reset back to default Tesco Screen

Hi,

Is anyone else getting the problem where the Hudl 2 resets back to the Tesco default screen settings and in doing so clears all your widgets, short cuts etc?

I'm on my second unit, both have done it and I have been told by Tech Support that the cause is Google Now (not activated) Family Guy (not installed). I have factory reset but it still does it, any suggestions before I give up and get a refund?

BTW my first unit started losing WiFi connection and had to be turned off before it could re-connect again, the reason why I exchanged it, in doing so I hoped the above issue would not reveal it self but unfortunately it has!

Yes I get the same problem. And I dont have google now installed or family guy installed. I also have had WiFi issues but just once and the won't charge issue and corruption of the micro SD card. All the bugs I've noticed. I'm hoping the next update fixes all or at least some of the issues. Pointless replacing it...it is software issues...

Try using a different launcher. Go Launcher and Apex are both recommended. I use Go Launcher.

I have not rooted the unit, can you still apply a different launcher?

From what I've seen / experienced the "resets back to the Tesco default screen settings" only occuers with the stock My Tesco launcher - I switched to Apex Launcher and never experienced it again.  :ninja:

I just bought a Huddle 2 for my Niece's 6th birthday (next week). I wanted to set it up with a cool launcher, theme etc, and with all her 'kids' apps, and lock it down to protect her from the big bad world! I installed Go Launcher as one of the first things, and the first time I saw this exact same issue was in Go Launcher, rather than the Tesco launcher. Its infuriating, as I had set up the entire home screen and then it all reverted back to default! In my case, I had configured a 'restricted' user profile (under Settings, Users) and so have her profile tightly locked down to allow only specific apps - and I thought it was this configuration which was the key to the issue, as thus far I have only seen this issue occur in that restricted profile (so haven't seen this in the normal/unrestricted profile yet). I uninstalled Go Launcher as a result of this issue, then I saw the same issue occur in the Tesco launcher - again on the restricted user profile (but then I noticed that the Go launcher hadn't actually been uninstalled, just not being used). I finally got Go launcher to fully un-install and since this, the restricted profile running under the Tesco Launcher has retained its home screen layout, even through several restarts of the Hudl 2. Not sure for how long this will remain working though - your forum posts don't give me much confidence! Clearly an issue with the Hudl 2 and not specific to the launcher in my case. Would be keen to hear your continued experience with this issue.

Cheers, Paul

I just experienced this for the first time and I've had mine since launch. I have noticed for the past couple of days returning to the home screen has been very slow with the icons taking a while to appear. Then today back to default so will try a diff launcher.

It's a matter of preference, but 'Apex' and 'Nova' are very popular. 'Go' seems to me to be more of a resource hog, and annoying with it's 'in app purchases'

I prefer 'Nova' myself for a non-rooted machine.
