Initial China Phone Discussion can be found here:

If anyone wants to edit this first post  with useful info etc please feel free.

THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND WHEN BUYING A CHINA PHONE

#1 - The prices shown here are based on the prices in China. It will cost more internationally as the phone increases in price, and there is also P&P. If you buy a phone shown here for $160/£107, you will probably be paying $200/£130.

#2 - Always use PayPal when buying from a china store, unfortunately a lot of problems 'can' occur when shipping, or with the seller themselves. PayPal will ensure your money is safe until you get your product.

#3 - Only buy from trusted sellers, there are a lot of scam websites around so be careful.

Please keep the thread on topic, half a dozen me toos, smileys etc does not make this easy to read on mobile, tablet or pc.

Anything posted that is inflammatory, derogatory or not in keeping in line with the topic will be deleted.

Anyone wanna start populating the thread with any new handset or whats comming soon in the china phone world.

Ill start with an MTK new innovation called HotKnot. Its a file sharing app that shares small files by bringing the screens into close proximty.

I've said it before and I'll say it again - a phone with 5.5" screen is TOO BIG for me as it would be too large to comfortably fit in my trouser pocket! That's unless we get something like the Sharp Aquos Crystal X:

http://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2015/01/hands-on-with-sharps-aquos-crystal-x-high-end-design-with-specs-to-match/

Smaller in height and width (though thicker) than my 5" Coolpad F1! I do wonder how usable the phone will be in loud places, however, as the screen itself acts as the earpiece and I understand that the flat-panel speaker technology isn't generally very loud. Certainly a very, very cool-looking device, however.

More importantly, it shows what can be done to reduce the ever-increasing dimensions of phones. It would be nice to see some compact Chinaphones with similar dimensions to the LG G2 and G3 which are the most compact devices after the fancy Sharp phones.

The Coolpad X7 looks to be a high-quality device, but I'm not overly keen on its 'blocky' design. I also think the bezels at the top and bottom are a bit larger than they really need to be.

I'll probably treat myself to a new phone later in the year but think I will wait until the newer generation of 64-bit chips become available (MT6795, perhaps?) to see what new phones are produced there. A screen between 5" and 5.2" will probably be what I'm looking for once again. I'm also thinking of spending a bit more and I think a good-quality camera (with OIS if at all possible) will be on my shopping list.

Just been updated with a tracking number for SG Post. It's on its way! (I hope)  :D

I am also hoping to get a Jiayu S3 3GB version in the coming months :). How long will Singapore Post take for delivery & how much did you pay for ?

Assuming the deal isn't dodgy ( :P !), that's certainly a very good price for a lot of phone. Ordering various smaller packets by ChinaPost, I've found that they tend to arrive a lot quicker than you might expect so hopefully SG Post will be the same.

Let us know how you get on.

I wonder how good the Xiaomi Note Pro will be, thats right up your street :)

Xiaomi is supposed to be the best Chinese company. Their products are very good and relatively cheaper. Many people buy their products due to their own MIUI roms.

Right now I am using Huawei Ascend Mate 7 golden version. It's the best phone I ever had.

The Chinese sellers are usually sending by Chinapost or Singapore post as free. Off course it's not free but cheaper for them. It takes from 25 to 45 days to reach the destination.

Spemall are selling the 2GB version too for that price http://www.spemall.com/JIAYU-S3-4G-SMARTPHONE-MTK6752-64-bit-Octa-Core-5-5-Inch-FHD-13MP-Camera-3000mAh-NFC-RAM-3GB-RAM_g.html   Not sure how good a seller they are but they are often mentioned on gizchina.com . They often do discount promotions with them. $5 off etc..

Anyway my order with club1941 just doesn't feel right so I've cancelled. Too many issues around the whole deal.

Club1941 has turned out to be a scam site. http://forum.xda-developers.com/general/general/experience-comments-club1941-t3043990/page21

I've deleted my previous posts about ordering from them so people don't part read the posts and try and order from them.

Landvo L600 Pro seems pretty nice. Android 5.0 Lollipop, 4G LTE octa core

Landvo L600 Pro looks same to Huawei Mate 7, the specs looks good, MT6572 Octa-core,4G, android 5.0, but the launch time is still unknown.

The Lenovo Vibe Shot looks interesting:

http://www.gsmarena.com/lenovo_mwc_2015-review-1222p2.php

Not too big, reasonable enough mid-range specification but with a very camera-centric design. Will be interesting to see the reviews of this one when it is released.

Not sure about the price, however! I see it is reportedly going to be $300+ which seems quite a lot for a Snapdragon 615 phone, unless the camera is really, really good.
