A factory reset is not needed. Just run the SuperSU app (download it if you dont have it), go to settings and look for "Full unroot" option. click and follow the instructions.

Didn't unroot using SU I have no idea why. I did a reset everything in settings however after restart and new fresh configuration personal start up it still says rooted. Is a factory reset option after powering the hudl off and using volume + and on/off switch the boot option factory reset the same as using reset erase everything in the settings menu?

Thanks

The only way to remove root is to downgrade the hudl using pauls january root image reboot and allowing the hudl to update OTA the march update root will now be lost.

Hi mate no probs. I've had a go and can't do it so will have to leave it as I've had enough lol

You can write a unroot script and flash it via cwm recovery, factory reset only deletes user files not system files.

Root is system files.

Or simply reroot , reboot, use file manager that provides root, delete the root files from /system/bin and delete the app from /system/app then reboot.

Where is the file manager that provided root please mate

Download it from the play store just like any other app.

The file manager does not provide root - it uses your already root status to allow you to access system files.

What exactly am I deleting in system and app folders please

Remove

/system/app/Superuser.apk

/system/xbin/su

/system/xbin/daemonsu

/system/etc/install-recovery.sh

Some files may not exist, different tablets uses different files, delete what you find from above list.

In whichever file manager you are using look for an option to enable 'root explorer' or similar. When you start the file manager with the correct settings to access the root file system, you should also see a notice asking for permissions from the supersu app. A good program to use is 'ES File Explorer' by ES App Group.

Remove

/system/app/Superuser.apk

/system/xbin/su

/system/xbin/daemonsu

/system/etc/install-recovery.sh

/system/bin/su

Some files may not exist, different tablets uses different files, delete what you find from above list.

Yes this works and is certainly easier than my method no system/bin/su found on my hudl

Guest samac

install a terminal emulator program

make sure the prompt line ends with a #

if not enter the command

su

then hit return

your command prompt should now end in a #

then enter the command

rm /system/app/Superuser.apk

then use the rm command for the others paths that you had in the previous thread.

Flash via recovery the same way you rooted, how did you root? If you didn't use my recovery?

Also you are trying to remove apps no one told you too, so no clue what you are doing, you tried to remove /system/app/SuperSU.apk

what is /system/app/SuperSU.apk?

I can't help people who can't follow directions.
