Guest andy_j_000
Does anyone know how to map the various buttons on the smartphone to launch custom applications. On PocketPC2002 it's possible to assign pretty much any application you like to any button, but there doesn't seem to be an obvious way of doing this on the SPV.... Thanks for reading :)
Guest Bazz
In the Programs menu highlight the program you want and choose Menu->Add Spped Dial. Hold down the button to launch it.
Guest andy_j_000
Thanks for the reply, I've tried what you suggested, but when I choose 'Add Speed Dial' nothing happens. ... actually - it looks like this technique only works for system applications like 'call history' and 'settings' - I'm trying to map a key to one of my own apps... wonder why it doesn't work the same! Thanks again!
Guest spacemonkey
As soon as you pick Add Speed Dial on the menu it should give a screen with 3 fields. Name: the name of the speed dial Value: the application or menu item you were on Keypad assignment: a number which is what number to assign the speed dial to. Guest andy_j_000
Ah yeah, thanks - just tried it for one of the system apps and worked fine... just can't get it working with my own applications... strange! Any ideas?
Guest Bazz
Works fine for me for any apps :?
Guest andy_j_000
Ah yep - got it sorted now!! It was my fault all along - turns out I was trying to assign the speed dial to an app that no longer existed (and of course, the programs menu only updates when the device is reset, so I couldn't tell and got no warning message!). Oops! Thanks for all your help!! :)
Guest Bazz
Cool. You can also reset the Program by going to a sub-menu (e.g. Games, Accessories or Microsoft) and then pressing back, I think.
Guest andy_j_000
Cool! Yep - that works fine  Thanks for your help!!
Guest caio1
I noticed you can set speeddial up to number 99. But how to activate a program associated to a number > 9 ?? from 0 to 9 I just tap and hold the number... but with 2 cypher numbers??? EDIT: found the way. Just tap and hold the second number ;) i.e.: for 50 tap 5 then tap&hold 0. Caio
