Hello,

Ok, this is almost completely off topic but there you go. After following one of the links on here I found some lovely Holly Valance/ Jennifer Love Hewett pics I can use as the background on my phone. The problem is...

Whenever I right-click in IE 6 and choose 'Save Picture As' it decides it wants to save it as a .bmp file and with the name as 'unititled'. Since there are a lot of clever people here (is that enough grovelling?) does anyone know why this is happening. Its forcing me to stay with my Anna Kournikova or Jennifer Ellison backgrounds (which I've attached out of courtesy!)

Thanks

Adrian

maybe its cos they are bitmap files

just save em, then open up your favourite image editing software (photoshop being the best of course :) ), and then open it, resize, crop, etc., and save it as a jpg

Nope, its not that. I've checked by right-clicking and choosing properties. They are .jpg files. It has been happening for a while with .jpg and .gif files. Very annoying and the Microsoft site was no help.

When you save the picture do you select what type of file you want to save it as

Sorry if it's a stupid suggestion  just looking at the possibilities

Nope, I can't but its fixed now. IE crashed just after I emptied the cache and then when I'd reopened it and closed it again it was working. Seems that IE 6 is so clever it won't let you save pictures in their proper format if your cache is full!! Interesting

I've had this happen to me as well. IE6 is WAAAAY too smart for it's own good, and uses up waaay too much system resource as well. Buggy as all getup, too.
