Is there any way to remove the '1' symbol from home screen? I don't need it there, don't use line 2 at all (not even sure if i have it). cheers

Don't think so.  I don't think the iconbar is very configurable

You do still have a Line 2 madukranian.

All these icons(Line 1/Line 2, VPS Message Waiting Indicator ,text message icon,divert symbols etc) are triggered by an inhabited field on the SIM, these fields are only inhabited if you have the service provisioned and/or active.

Does the line 1 - line 2 thing kick in when you swap between 2 incoming calls then?

I would think so.. Don't exactly know how to do that... You can also in settings>telephony (somewhere there) select your outgoing line as Line 2. So you will be making calls from that.. Prob. a different number. Guess could be used if don't want ppl to know who's calling, lol.. Just assumptions......
