It will scan the card and display all the media content on the card. Select the file you wanna play, and then (supprisignly) press play! You cant have playlists though BTW! Guest chewie Posted December 12, 2002 Report Share Posted December 12, 2002 Just re read your post, if you have media on the phone AND the card, there isnt anyway (that i know of) to just play the media of the card (or vice versa) Media player just scans away and loads everything into the playlist! I removed the Chemical Bros and sample Media Player file, otherwise it will play them too. De selecting 'background play' in options makes for smoother play back too. You can goto menu > settings in media player and select to shuffle and repeat if you wish! I was listening while shopping for 4 hours and still had 2 bars left at the end. I was listening through headphones, the GPRS was off and I didn't use the screen though. As some of you have noticed the media player on the phone does NOT have a play list function! This is extremely irritating as the media player then starts movie files when you use it as an mp3 player. The media player does not support normal play lists, but what I discovered is that it support ordinary .asx files (these files are used for streaming video). and as you might have guessed you are able to make multiple entries in an asx file, and therefore you can use these as an play list. The asx syntax is quite easy, and does basically use a xml syntax. Example: <asx version="3"> <entry><ref href = "mymusicnr1.wma"/></entry> <entry><ref href = "mymusicnr2.wma"/></entry> </asx> In this example the music files has to be located in the same dir as the .asx file, but you can use direct paths. To use the play list all you have to do is locate the file in your ALL-explorer or Internet explore, and run it. Just tried this out and now have a new folder in my programs menu called music with a shortcut to a playlist. Works a treat.
